Hearing about your wisdom tooth surgery made me think of my first MRI scan when i was still very young. I don't remember why i had to get it done all i remember is we went to the hospital, they stuck me with a needle that hurt as usual, sat me up in a small hospital bed like the ones they have in the back of ambulances. As they where getting ready to put me to sleep they had the tube connected to the syringe in my arm and i was actually able to watch the white sleep inducing fluid go through the tube like one of those plastic crazy straws. THE EXACT MOMENT the fluid reached the end of the tube and went into my body my vision became pitch black instantly and just as quickly as i was knocked out i find myself waking up in a wheelchair feeling incredibly drowsy despite the whole awake, asleep, awake again experience seeming to happen in the span of 5 seconds

3:17 the process begins with the orthodontist gently and lovingly JAMMING RUBBER BANDS IN BETWEEN YOUR TEETH and letting them SLOWLY PUSH YOUR TEETH APART giving you a PIERCING headache and ruthless insomnia then he uses the space created by the rubber bands to jam this DIABOLICAL METAL CONTRAPTION around your teeth and then every week it gets cranked 3 times to push your teeth further apart and cause horrible pain

had a palette expander once upon a time for 3 years, i couldnt agree more with bryson's description of it.

8:50 I can TOTALLY relate; I had eye correctional surgery (my eyes were drifting horribly) and I just woke up blind, basically no memory of anything past the IV drip, my eyes hurting like crazy and a cloth over them.  I was basically bed ridden for around 5 days, I got the surgery on Tuesday and only started being able to even about opening my eyes on Thursday, and only recovering enough that I didn’t need a cool cloth by Sunday.
