COME SEE ME ON TOUR:

Harry Potter is one of the biggest book and film franchises of all time, and over the course of such a long story, you better believe I found some medical scenes to react to. We look at scenes from The Sorcerer’s Stone (The Philosopher’s Stone for my UK friends), The Chamber of Secrets, The Prisoner of Azkaban, The Goblet of Fire, The Order Of The Phoenix, The Half Blood Prince, and The Deathly Hallows. Between Harry, Ron, Hermione, Hagrid, Snape, Dumbledore, Dobby, Belatrix, Malfoy, Neville, and Voldemort himself, there was plenty of medical criticism to go around. Specifically we talk about Harry’s scar, Z-plasty, salmonella, broken wrists, concussions, trauma, quidditch accidents, broom falls, Phoenix tears, gillyweed, holding your breath, the bends, bleeding out, vaping, drawing blood, chest compressions, and even splinching! Are there any scenes you think I missed from JK Rowling’s epic?Harry Potter is one of the biggest book and film franchises of all time, and over the course of such a long story, you better believe I found some medical scenes to react to. “That’s obviously a terrible medical condition” Yes, that condition would be death. I hear it’s pretty fatal
  • @MapleBizz328
You mean this whole time, they could've gotten rid of Voldemort by sending him to Antartica?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME-?
  • I love that Doctor Mike is concerned about the basilisk bite causing a salmonella infection, because while that's definitely a possibility, the info given about it indicates you probably wouldn't live long enough for that to be a problem

"Is that Voldermort? ... Where's his nose" ~Doctor Mike 2022
  • The part with Dumbledore cutting his hand makes sense. His hand is already showing symptoms of the curse from Marvolo's ring that looks like gangrene. The nerve endings in it are already dead.

This is just pure gold. Never in my life had I imagined there would be a day where a real life doctor would react to injuries from a fantasy movie about magic
  • I was reading Goblet of Fire recently and Wormtail did nothing to stop his bleedinh once he cut his hand off except wrap the stump in his robes. He was just sitting there for like 10 minutes at least while Voldemort was reborn and preaching to his death eaters. I was like bruh put a turniquet and some pressure on that!

I love the line “is this Voldemort, where’s his nose?”😂😂😂
  • Harry: I survived the killing curse and got this scar from it Mike: No, you just had a bad plastic surgeon
  • @SomeKiddo
In terms of the candies, they have another half that gets rid of the symptoms. In the books they were purple and orange candies, the orange making you sick and the purple aiding you.

I think the reason Neville's injury in The Sorcerer's Stone wasn't worse is because, in canon, when he was a baby, he was dropped from a balcony to see if he had magic. He did, thankfully, but I'm guessing that's why he didn't get more hurt.

Dr Mike: "Why isn't anyone calling 911?" Arthur Weasley, muggle studies expert and middle-aged man: "What is the function of a rubber duck?"
  • I never thought somebody would call Voldemort an “elderly gentlemen” 😅
  • @Xboxgamer_Neo
I love how dr Mike just starts by insulting Voldemort
