At the moment Ad Rock and Mike D were accepting their award, Yauch was dying in a hospital bed. So sad. They really did a good job keeping it together.
  • I'm not a 52 year old dude crying.. It's just something in my eye.. Rest in peace MCA. Beastie for life...🤘🙏💙

To those that gave this a thumbs down, you need to take a long look in the mirror and ask yourselves what’s missing. Beastie Boys represent nothing but love, humility, family, and sticking together. MCA you will always be with us.
  • Bless you. I'm a 58 year old lady from Amsterdam, saw them 3 times live in concert. Now dying of cancer myself. I think about Adam and the other Beasties often. Man, i still enjoy their music a lot. Keep rocking, keep grooving. Love 🤘✌❤

More than 8 years later, and still, tears.

I'm 53 and STILL listen to the Beastie Boys. A true classic rap group who were and still are a part of who I am. Thanks guys!

Hearing them read the letter from MCA. Oh man, I cried a little all these years later. RIP.
  • There are the occasional celebrity deaths that catch you off guard and hurt like losing a family member. The death of MCA cut me deep. I’m known to all who know me as the guy who has a huge music collection and always has the newest and most dope new music. The first album I asked my mom to buy me when I was 8 was the ‘license to ill’ cassette. RIP Yauch.
  • Now here's a little story I got to tell about 3 bad brothers you know so well, it started way back in history... With AD Rock MCA and me Mike D ❤

Every good party in the 80's had Beastie Boys playing.

Rest in peace Adam .. you're one of the most badass MCs to walk this universe and will never be forgotten.

Beastie For Ever. Ad Rock and Mike D on stage receiving their award while Adam was living his last days… It’s one of the most heartbreaking moments in the Hip Hop history Long live to the music ❤️

Yauch's passing hit me like a kick in the chest. I remember getting back from my lunch break at work, when a friend of mine texted me the news. We'll never forget you, Adam. #RIPMCA
  • Whoever didn't grow up bumping the Beasties surely missed out on big part of the foundation of hip hip and rap in the early days. My eyes immediately came to tears as soon as Ad Rock started reading MCAs words.

I saw Beastie Boys and Run DMC way back in the day. As someone who loves all kinds of music it was one of the best concerts I have ever seen.

When all three awards were put on the podium... but only 2 members of The BB. I choked up. I’ve never seen this clip before, so Thank you for sharing.
