Put them in a NYC subway for a minute, and ask the same question again.
  • never like or trust anyone just because they look like you or have other similarities, those can be the worst

“I judge people based on the way they look.” Hell yeah man. That’s something worth clapping about.

I rented rooms in my home to college students. One year, I rented to two young men from Africa. I wasn't aware they were from the same country until they were moving in. When the mother of one saw the other young man, the look of hate in her eyes shocked me. She said to him with venom in her voice, "You are xyz (referring to his tribe)." He replied, "Yes, and you are abc (tribe)." Although they were from the same country, and the same color, they absolutely did not regard each other as "brothers/sisters" as implied by the man in the video. I thought I would have tribal war in my home and so have a talk with the young men. They both were open to learning from each other and about their different tribes. They became friends, to the chagrin of their families.

When you realize that white people are also your brothers, you’ll be where you need to be, spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, and in relation to truth.

I work with many people from all over the continent of Africa especially Kenya. None of them view us as their brothers or sisters. They actually despise us calling ourselves African American so I’m surprised to hear this guy saying this. They frown on us for the most part.

Tired of talking politics and race in negative ways. We all need a big hug!

As an African, the issue with this sentiment is that it is not reciprocated by other groups. And this has been the issue in Africa for a very long time. We try to be friends with everyone, but those people do not share the same feelings.
