It was rare to see J.R. do the right thing. He was the perfect villain, but even villains have their moments.

It was nice to see J.R. do the right thing. He realized he put her through enough trouble already and she was carrying his child so why stress her.
  • I think it's interesting that when they did the Dallas revival.....there was NO mention of James, his mother Vanessa, or his son Jimmy, we see Callie ONCE at JR's wake but no mention of their kid. There might've been plot potential wasted as they should've all been JR's heirs.
  • Thank you very much, DALLAS70, for uploading this interesting video so that I can see it again anytime in the future. ™ Please have a nice day today. ™

0:33 Jr is a punk he never had this physicality with Ray, Clayton and especially Bobby, He knows they would knock him right out.

    J R should have approached

This was the scene that I wanted to see between Bobby and Pam - one that would have resolved her storyline (instead of that BS “fatal disease syndrome” ending). Bobby learns of Pam’s whereabouts several years after her disappearance and tracks her down, only to observe that she has a much happier life away from the Ewings and Southfork. So he decides to leave her alone, without making contact.

J.R. Ewing in a Chevy Corsica. This show jumped the shark years earlier than this scene.

OLE JR knows that it's her and his son and he decides it's not worth the fight worth the fight. Maybe showing regret?Maybe a conscience

As many of you have seen J.R. being a cold hearted human being with a ruthless demeanour. He also had a soft side for his children, especially James, who really tested JR’s temper from time to time. He also really cared about some of the women in his life, through his twisted narcissistic mind. Sue Ellen took the brunt of JR’s physiological abuse throughout the years but at the end, they really truly loved each other. Another one was Cally, even though she was treated like trash from JR, he did have a soft spot for her, especially in this clip. He let his ego and taking possession of his child slide, just so she can be happy. Once he saw that, he pulled away.

This was foolishly written out of the storyline on that so called "reboot" they attempted to do. Never made sense to not bring this into the series in 2012 especially with Callie making an appearance.

Wow. JR was the best villain! The man you loved-to-hate!
  • It was very shrude of JR Ewing to go down to Palm Beach, Florida just to find out that Calley is getting love from another guy other than JR himself. ™ Please post only positive comments over here. ™
  • Seeing scenes like this again puts into perspective just how bad that Dallas reboot from several years back was...or (at the very least) how ill-advised it was to work with a show runner who had no familiarity with or connection to the original series. Storylines such as this one were never followed up on in the reboot...which was particularly curious in this instance since Cally made a cameo in the reboot yet no mention was made of the son she had with JR and what had become of him. Nor was James mentioned or incorporated, nor was the son James had with Debra Lynn. Nor was Bobby and Jenna's son Lucas mentioned, even though Ray had a couple of cameos yet never mentioned his marriage to Jenna nor what Lucas was up to after all that time. It was really just an odd reboot overall due to a combination of the out-of-character behavior exhibited by some of the main characters, the disappearance of other characters who could have been incorporated into the series in some way and who the audience deserved to know what became of them, and the overall lack of continuity with the original series. Scenes like this one serve to starkly highlight those facts.

Sometimes JR Ewing acted just like Cliff Barnes. Then sometimes Cliff Barnes acted just like JR Ewing. In all essence,, neither one of them were too keen on "treating women with respect". They could both learn from Bobby Ewing.

Good heavens, the storylines in the last few Dallas years were atrocious and beyond ridiculous. I couldn't stand that James character either. By this time Dallas had definitely outstayed its welcome. There were only a few of the regular cast members left and the ratings dropped further with every season. I feel they should have gone out on a high and not try to stretch it out until it was just a shadow of the great show it once was. Leave the party before it's over.
  • That wasn't a very "JR" move. If that child had Ewing blood, gotdamn it, it doesnt matter whose life is destroyed, that child belongs on South fork! I never bought this. He was fully prepared to ruin Clayton's livelihood behind John Ross
