Because their parents when they are young are not validating & telling their kids they are fine the way they are. They didn't put boundaries on social media etc of a father told his daughter every day she is beautiful, she has so much to offer in the forms of other talents & abilities, her self esteem would be high & she would value herself

Everybody looks the same after a facial surgery in Korea. It's quite creepy and sad such a strict beauty standard :(

Many Thai travel there just for cosmetic surgery after that they look the same as Korean actor/actress. You can see during beauty contest, their faces look quite the same.

Prices are competitive with those stateside. The surgeries listed seem consistent with what Asians would want. So myself, I would stay stateside for what I would be after, which is not anything listed😀, and not pay the travel expenses of going to the Orient, not that I wouldn’t mind visiting and vacationing there, but for complications and follow up care it’s a lot easier if you live near your surgeon!

0:25 Seoul has high quality medical care, not because of the demand for plastic surgery, but due to rigorous training, developed economy, and the very high bar for entrance into even third-tier medical schools. Doctors don’t learn on patients. They need to have the skills before operating on any patient.

I have one person who has had plastic surgery around me, and what is certain is that the negative perception of plastic surgery of koreans is not as severe as in other countries. Also, as the plastic surgery technique is excellent, I think advanced facial reconstruction surgery is a good treatment for patients who have been caught in fire or accident.

Now I know where this obsession with surgery in Thailand comes from. My girlfriend, i met her 6 months ago, talks about surgery for her face all the time. And she is absolutely pretty already, a surgery would just take away her uniqueness. Some of her friends have surgery and they all have limited facial expressions and look very similar. I don't like it at all. I have to get this out of her head somehow, but I assume there is also social pressure. If you don't look a certain way, they will tell you that you are ugly.
