I will never forget my first visit to the Palais Garnier several years ago. In my opinion the most beautiful building in Paris, and arguably in the entire world. Your video is so good, congratulations

When I was in Paris the last time, I was right in front of this place. What a shame I hadn't time to take a look into it. This is so beautiful!
  • I visited the Palais Garnier once a couple of years ago. On pictures and videos looks stunning but seeing the building live os just another experience. By far the most beautiful opera house in the world!

This building just makes my heart sigh. In a world of such ugliness this place is a balm on the soul. Utterly breathtaking. 💗💗
  • Captures quite well the original spirit of the baroque, dragging you out of this miserable existance into a world of wonders and aethereal beauty. Chapeau.

I'm not surprised why I find the exterior and interior of the Palais Garnier opera house to be one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. That's because it was built during the 2nd half of the 1800s, an era of relatively high prosperity and immense opulence combined with an eclectic taste in architecture. Same time period as St Pancras railway station in London. Such grand, beautiful buildings, mixing gothic, renaissance, baroque, and/or neoclassical styles--from theatres, railway stations, civic/government buildings, and even residential buildings (as is the case in Paris)--were built during that era throughout Europe and the Americas. My eyes always seems to spot architecture from that era and be drawn to it.

I was there once, some years ago. Not as a tourist but for a Rossini opera, "la Cerenentola". I did not visit the whole building of course. But it is one of my best memories. This monument has magic. Thank you for posting.
