Atreus stabbed Baldur with mistletoe. In the myths, Loki disliked perfect Baldur, and used an arrow of mistletoe, the one thing Frigg (or Freya) did not make Baldur immune to, to kill him. The serpent said the boy seemed familiar to him. Loki is Jormungander’s father. The ship Kratos and Atreus escape Hel in is the Ship of Nails, the ship Loki is destined to sail at Ragnarok to bring down the gods, who in the game killed his people. Holy freaking god of war my mind is blown right now.

19:00 Atreus: ive never been in a giants belly. Faye: allow me to introduce myself
  • And the fact that Jormungandr responded immedietly after Atreus asked for help, seems to show that Jormungandr's familiarity with the boy activated his instincts, following his father's command instantaneously and unconditionally

Thor wanted to recruit Kratos for Infinity War

When kratos said "we should finish this journey while I still have the strength" that is the equivalent to I'm getting to old for this shit

I like how Freya claims she understands she made mistakes by robbing baldur of his feeling but the moment kratos and atreus undo her 'mistake' she's distraught shouting "NOOOOO!"

"I killed my father." My guy, dont be shy now. You killed your entire family tree

Baldur: I've never felt more alive. Kratos: okay let's make some f•••ing changes
  • Just realised that when Baldur said:"i thought your kind was supossed to be so enlightened,so much better than us",he wasn't refering to kratos as a god,but as a giant. Most likely Odin wanted to eradicate the gaints once and for all and he sent Bladur to finish the job

39:25 i think the reason Baldur was so confused in this part was because its his first time actually FEELING Kratos's Spartan Rage. In their previous battles, Kratos used it, but he couldn't tell the difference. At most, he probably felt the impact knocking him back slightly more, but since everything is numb, he couldn't feel the difference in power Now though, he's actually realizing how much strength Kratos gains when he stops holding back

Atreus "So, you'd let me kill you?" Kratos "If it means you live... yes." Atreus Adjusts quiver excitedly

I just realized that when the World Serpent said Atreus seemed familiar is because Atreus is Loki and Loki is the father of Fenrir, Jörmungandr, and Hel. Jörmungandr is the World Serpent.
  • I love how Kratos & Atreus essentially adopted Mimir into their family. And I love how they did the credits

From the Start. "BOY!" In the Middle. "Atreus." To the End. "Son."

Loki creates the world serpent through an act of magic, either turns Kratos into the serpent or creates it from his rage. Why else do you think the serpent has light skin and has a beard? Also has red patterns.

Looking at the Norse mythology this game is based off, I realized that in the game, the mother is called Faye, but her true name is Laufey the Just, who in Norse myth is the mother of Loki, the God of Mischief.
