So I just finished my devotional time with God this morning on Proverbs 8. Then this suddenly popped up in my feed! I couldn't help but get teary eyed because its a confirmation for me and the art is just superb and very easy to understand! It's like God is really guiding me to better understand this word on wisdom. 😭 Praise Abba Father. Also, Thankful for the Bible Project for doing what He called you to do. 💕

I’ve been watching these videos since I was 13 and all I have 2 say is thank u I’m 19 now and the word of god have made me think differently from all my peers ... I lost many of them thru violence and the system..but his word kept me sane thru it all I don’t kno what’s next for me in this life but it been rough so far but Ik thru him it’s only gonna get better 💯✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

In the story of the Bible, God appoints humans as his representatives in ruling the world (Gen 1:26-28). But they fall prey to a deceptive voice and foolishly choose their own destruction over God’s wisdom (Gen 3:1-24). So how can humans recall their lost vocation? In Proverbs 8, we’re introduced to God’s own wisdom, depicted as an elegant woman who summons all people to enter the high city of divine learning so they can rediscover a new way to be human. The poem is saturated with imagery that recalls the creation story of Genesis chapter 1. Lady wisdom claims that it was through her that God transformed chaos into cosmic order (Prov 8:22-31), and she now offers her wisdom to humans who are called to order the world as well (see Prov 8:12-22). Notice the important use of the Hebrew word “carve” (Heb. khaqaq). It describes how leaders “issue decrees,” referring to the ancient practice of inscribing laws and decrees into stone (Prov 8:15). These human attempts at ordering the chaos of our world are in fact an image of God’s own “carving” actions when he brought order to the chaotic, dark waters of Genesis 1:2. (See how khaqaq is used in Proverbs 8:27-29, where it’s translated as “inscribed, marked, boundary”). When humans live by God’s wisdom, they bring order to the world by imitating God’s own wise carving of the cosmos. And when humans refuse God’s wisdom and order the world by their own schemes, they inevitably drag the world back into chaos and disorder. So Proverbs 8 and Lady Wisdom offer each of us a choice: Will we order our lives and communities by our own wisdom or by God’s? The cosmos hangs in the balance; we should choose wisely. Absolutely wonderful to see God's Word visualised. This is a particularly brilliant video and no doubt because it teaches God's Word accurately. You can feel God's call on your life, will you listen to Him or will you go your own way and descend back into the chaos?

My favorite Bible chapter! The one that really turned me to God. We are living in the time of wisdom we just need to listen!
