Kirby speedruns are absolutely adorable

I love how the P2 waddle dee is exactly like having a younger sibling play the game: - Not all rules that apply to you apply to him - Normalized disrespect - He is automatically a 2nd class citizen bc you're older - Need him anyway to exploit the game

I love the constant fighting and arguing, you really can tell these two are brothers from the playful rivalry and how much crap they give each other

I'm sure someone has said this already, but things moving "weirdly" in the background is actually an intentional graphics choice! Things that are sufficiently far from the camera drop way down in fps both to save power and as a cute aesthetic choice. You can notice things pick back up to their regular framerate as you draw closer to them. The depth of field effect is there for a similar reason; both to emphasise distances and to cut down on processing power. They learnt a lot from the tech issues in Star Allies.

Fun fact: this design of King Dedede is inspired by his design in the Dark Matter trilogy(Dreamland 2, Dreamland 3 and Kirby 64) where instead of the wide beak, he has a more simplified mouth.

Bandana waddle dee is honestly too op since he can't die. Whenever I fight a boss with my brother without having to do damagless, I just run right at the boss and start stabbing it without being careful at all. I like to call my strategy a risk but I don't care cuz my brother is good at dodging and stalling

I can't believe it, but this has become a comfort video/speedrun. The easy, non-stressful gameplay plus the play-fighting between brothers just puts me at ease. I've fallen asleep to it at least once, maybe more. Thanks for being so calming and fun. I hope I add a couple extra thousand or so views with my rewatches. :)

I still find it hilarious that bandana waddle dee playable debut was with the spear copy ability but the spear copy ability hasn't been in any game where he's playable since return to dreamland so now he has a completely unique moveset unlike meta knight or dedede.

Something that I learned while fiddling with the game is that it is possible to instantly drop a copy ability or mouthful mode by pressing the select (minus) button, instead of holding down "y". Over the course of the game it might not be that much faster, but it might save a few fractions of a second here and there.

I freaking love this game. The graphics, the gameplay, the upgrades, the story, the bosses, the secrets, the fact that the waddle dees aren’t considered an enemy at all in this game! I love it. So much. If you don’t have this game, I would for sure get it.
