About Life Below Zero:
Life Below Zero follows six people as they battle for the most basic necessities in the state with the lowest population density in the United States. Living at the ends of the world's loneliest roads and subsisting off the rugged Alaskan bush, they battle whiteout snow storms, man-eating carnivores, questionable frozen terrain, and limited resources through a long and bitter winter. Some of them are lone wolves; others have their families beside them. All must overcome despairing odds to brave the wild and survive through to the spring. And when spring arrives in Alaska, rising temperatures bring mounting challenges as they work to prepare for yet another winter.

National Geographic you really blew me away this time. If you really want to authentically show Alaska and it's beauty then show me the first indigenous people. Not millionaires not having a clue or appreciation for the land, customs or traditions or even their struggles. Show me hard working indigenous people who have the utmost respect for the land and all it has to give. Show me their day to day struggles. Show me their respect for nature. Show me a proud people unlike another group on earth!

All these people in this video are so amazing. I love how they respect everything about the land and how they respect one another. It's also so refreshing not to hear foul language like we hear everyday in the lower 48. GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE IN THIS VIDEO AND MAY GOD GIVE THEM ALL A LONG HEALTHY AND HAPPY LIFE.
  • Living the dream. These people are blessed to live life uncomplicated. Taking only what God provides and teaching their Children about Family and respect for their Elders.

Jody was my seargant with Tanana Chiefs. She was a great person and was a very good leader and quite a motivator. She is absolutely an outdoors person. She is always on the go and a very positive person. I have total respect for her.

Wow! I admit, I had grown a little tired of life below zero. Highlighting the first Alaskans was the right thing to do and this is an amazing show. I haven’t turned on Disney+ for a while. I’m hoping there is more from this available there. Thank you National Geographic. This is brilliant. Informative and beautiful.

  • National Geographic you made an amazing decision to highlight the First Alaskans. Thank you so much for bringing it into our homes and sharing what a beautiful, appreciative, creative, hardworking culture they are. I have a deeper appreciation and profound respect for indigenous tribes. I’ll never stop watching. It is good for the body, mind and soul showing Mother Earth at her finest and those who sing her praise. Well done National Geographic well done!

People really need to watch and learn. Today People just go to the store and kids have no idea about living right. People take life for granted.
  • Life Below Zero: First Alaskans is an incredible and amazing series. It beautifully showcases both the lives of the indigenous peoples of Alaska and their stories, and the vast, majestic, pristine and stunning landscapes that this state has to offer. Mahsi'choo for sharing!
