  • ....Upgrades and zoom into the Bazookas...lol. Great video. I'm getting ready to buy that table and those upgrades will happen right off the bat.
  • @cobalt0681
I'm new to the Crossfire pro world and found your videos. I really appreciate all the tips. You and the Mrs. have a great personalities and humor. I look forward to watching more of your content.
  • @tomweber3529
Keystone Girl looks amazing. Oh and the table upgrades look good also.
  • @larelare1
Your setup puts all the sediment grinding up on your plastic ball valve. I put a clean out P trap prior to the ball valve with a downspout in to a bucket. I drain the table at the end of the day and it helps keep the water tables a bit less swampy.

so two things- 1. An old trick I learned when welding stainless when you want to suck up the heat is to place 2 blocks of dry ice on either side of the seam so the ice can absorb the heat, not the steel. works really really well. 2. I ran a water table for a bit, so I'm not an expert but if I remember correctly, aluminum can become very reactive when cut when there is water in the table. Keep up the good work and not bad for a sparky.

what was this video about again ? All I remember is the bazookas LOL just kidding , great upgrades to the machine and yes stainless is quite a pain in the butt when it comes to tig welding it.
  • @TimothyBoyden
Silver soldering fittings for the drain holes, like what you would do for beer brewing kettles, would likely be the best way to go for that.
  • @DeagleBingo
edit: oh also there is a 3d printable dimple die STL somewhere on the langmuir forum for the drains... otherwise i would have done it your way and grabbed an extra beer fitting i have and tigged'r in . yours looks better, but hey also.. if it looks stupid but works then it isn't stupid. another way with the water table is to clean the mating surface of the halves well with acetone before assembly and used clear hi-temp silicone (mine was from what was left of a tube from tractor supply i'd used on the chimney for my shop wood furnace) & bigger washers. i took some large stainless washers i had lying around bc i do a lot of boat stuff for ppl (like 2" washers with a 1/4" hole) and for the middle section bent enough of the edge in a vise to not interfere with the bottom of the pan... and on the corners used larger ~3" washers and cut 1/4 of the circle out leaving the bolt hole and cut a few slivers off the opposing edges with a small disk in the right angle die grinder and the washers clamped in a vise... thereby making a roughly L shaped piece with matching angles to the corners. This essentially spreads the clamping load out from the small washers provided in the kit and make things less likely to leak or separate. what i just described above sounds like a long process... and my description is wordy, but i assure the reader: its a lot less prep and setup than tig welding it if you don't feel the desire or have the time to do so... tig welding the pan of course is the prettiest most water-tight way if you have the skill and patience and i'm not knocking that either. spiceman has done a helluva job i just didn't want to take everything apart after i'd assembled... just wanted to get to figuring out how to run it. thanks btw for the easy button vid that was helpful putting a lot of that information together in one place for fusion. i would recommend also to anyone reading this with a pro table and to mr. spice himself here... check out the student edition of solidworks and sheetcam as well... and possibly Rhino cad + a CAM addon if you're doing more than just 2d cutting. oh yeah mentioning this also bc mister spice here has some good google search result status so here are some other upgrades that are lesser known but might be helpful to someone: this is mostly 3d printable upgrade stuff... and if anyone's doing a cnc plasma cutter... might as well dive your a$$ into 3d printing too.. its all G-Code on the streets folks. check out "compulsive diy" on youtube for some cool stuff too... torch water/spark shield with laser alignment and other things built in google "z-axis shield langmuir pro" for a 3d printable cover for your z axis... snaps onto the z-axis nicely and keeps water and rusty metal dust out google "spring loaded sharpie holder for cnc" or "alignment marker for langmuir" to turn your cnc plasma into a plotter... google "air scribe on cnc plasma" and check that out also other sweet things in the pipe for me are "drag knife for cnc plasma" and "laser engraver cutter for langmuir" anyway this seemed like a good place to dump all this stuff... i'm sure i'm missing something... like ways to dry your plasma air cheaply without buying a refrigerated air dryer... the answer i came up with is a modded culligan whole house water filter filled with dessicant ... refrig dryers don't work that great unless you're further south like spice man indiana. cheers ppl.. if you check this stuff out and go for it the way i did... then i might have just saved someone 4-8 hours of internet searching.
  • When you had the table off, you could have used simple dimple die tools to recess the holes and use regular bathroom sink drains. of course without the stoppers. But I think this will work good for you. I have the regular langmuir table and still have to make the water table. It is always great to see your videos! Keep Em' coming! :)
  • I did a few other things to my machine as well. One was mounting strong magnets to the slat holders so they don't slide around the water table. Installing clip on ferrite chokes on all the cables leading into the razorweld (because of the nature of emi and high voltages across different materials). I welded another L channel cross member below for shelving to support the razorweld unit. A lot of cable management consolidation with cable hiders and frame mounted brackets. And the best one is a custom flash suppressor for the head so you can watch it cut real time and it doesn't blind you.
  • @kiotimike
Cheers can't wait for your next video bud.
  • @thejourneyretold
Video clip of Doug instantly told me he's a good guy and we'd get along pretty well! lol
  • @robbypenor5009
Hello. first I used panel bond by 3M to fuse the water table together ( 3 years no leaks ) and no warping, next dimple dies to recess drain holes and used I kitchen drains with removable strainer in them. I also built a rack with leveling feet on it that the whole table sits on and a pallet jack can get under. I marked the spot on my floor where I use the table so that I don't have to level it every time I move it. I also added plasma table cutting fluid to the water ( no rust ) and reuse the water. Thanks for the videos.
