Anyone notice how 75% of the photos are not from the movie? They cut so much of her footage. Her and Aragorn first meeting each other, her scenes at Lothlorien with Galadriel, her going to Helm's Deep, the scene with her and her dad on the bridge where he says "I cannot protect you anymore", shots of her hugging her father on her death bead, etc. It would be nice to see these scenes in special features.

Tolkien truly created something so special, difficult for me to find words for. Everyone thinks of becoming "undying, immortal" but in Tolkiens world, immortality exists and it is kind of seen as a burden. The gift to men is to be able to die which Elrond saw as a weakness. Arwen saw it as a gift. This whole world of Tolkien is so majestic and difficult to fully understand, I wish this man could have lived for longer and being able to fulfill his work. Nevertheless, I am truly grateful to have the work he was able to write as it reflects in some kind both sides of everything.

It's interesting how sometimes we get so dragged into a movie (in this case a masterpiece) that we, in our minds, leave reality and get consumed by a thought of being in a better place. When I watched these movies countless times, I used to imagine myself walking through Middle Earth and then when my mind returned to reality I always felt empty and sad. Hearing this music makes me go back to that place, I even get goosebumps when I listen to this.

But Arwen went forth from the House, and the light of her eyes was quenched, and it seemed to her people that she had become cold and grey as nightfall in winter that comes without a star. Then she said farewell to Eldarion, and to her daughters, and to all whom she had loved; and she went out from the city of Minas Tirith and passed away to the land of Lórien, and dwelt there alone under the fading trees until winter came. Galadriel had passed away and Celeborn was also gone, and the land was silent. There at last when the mallorn-leaves were falling, but spring had not yet come, she laid herself to rest upon Cerin Amroth; and there is her green grave, until the world is changed, and all the days of her life are utterly forgotten by men that come after, and elanor and niphredil bloom no more east of the Sea. — The Lord of the Rings, Appendix A, "The tale of Aragorn and Arwen"

Such a BEAUTIFUL WOMAN, Such a BEAUTIFUL SONG. The two compliment each other.
  • @SerFondue
What I love most about this trilogy is how Liv Tyler’s beauty and grace cast as the most quintessentially perfect Arwen we could ever witness, will live on forever in history. Just as Elrond will remember her in Valinor
  • Arwen was and still is my role model from Lord of the Rings. Always true, always faithful, always uplifting, always wise, always loving. She was the kind of person who would never waver, even when the world was past saving in the eyes of all sane people who knew the odds. She would rather die than surrender, rather live a short life with love than a long one alone. Not to mention she has a wicked sword... ;)
