I'm blown away. Melissa did an outstanding job! I had no idea she was this good at singing and acting.
  • I will give credit where its due...you can tell Melissa really tried to do the voice justice and practiced a lot. Her effort is much appreciated and I've honestly never heard her sing before but she does have a nice voice.

i love how shes not trying to replicate the original, she's making it her own and has a different spin completely that's still true to the character

Fun fact: Melissa McCarthy had no clue she could sing before The Little Mermaid. She had a vocal coach help her with the song. Hard to believe since she gave such an epic performance!!! ❤

Now let’s not sit here and lie and act like Melissa didn’t devour this song... like she killed it !
  • Everyone in the cast is eating their roles and I'M LIVING FOR IT

She absolutely nailed this song. Pat Carrol would have been proud.
  • @KARDisney
This song is like a mix of the original song, Mother Knows Best and Be Prepared. Melissa is a hoot and what a wicked role!
  • @DutchessDivina
I love how they have mixed the original with the Broadway version!!!! Love this

Melissa is so perfect for this part. To her body type for the costume, her voice and personality as a actress. This deserves a reward

I’m legitimately shocked at the how amazingly well she did this song. I didn’t think anyone could do it justice after Pat Carroll but she proved me wrong. I had to replay it multiple times because of so many awesome lines. Can’t wait to see her in the movie. Really impressed with her vocals.

I love the way DISNEY did it now. The actual characters are singing in their own voice. No need for other singing voice talents. Simply showed the real talents they were looking for. Super amazing.

The way she says “Go back home to daddy” 2:33, kills me. It’s so perfect And the instruments sounding 5 times at the line “The boss is on a roll!” 3:11 is just so pleasing to my ears. I love it

I have to admit I had my doubts... but I'm blown away! This commitment to the role (voice wise anyway) is just amazing! Awesomely done, Ms McCarthy!
  • i love the way you can hear how this version took inspiration from the broadway version of poor unfortunate souls, but with its own added own twist to it. i was slightly skeptical of melissa mccarthy being ursula at first, but she actually killed her role!!
  • @aprillloyd4994
Melissa McCarthy did amazing!!! I see why they picked her for Ursula.

I’m so impressed with Melissa. She looks and sounds fantastic. Honestly I don’t think I was part of those critical of her casting, but I know there was a lot of people who were.

She definitely makes this her own. While it doesn't hit some of the highs of the original, it's still great! Love it!
  • @rjamesnigh
It's the way she still kind of sounds like Pat Caroll while still making it obviously her own and still stunning at it all that really does it for me, so far I'm loving the soundtrack!!
