Suffer Strong - Jay + Katherine Wolf

Published 2019-08-20
In this incredible message from Sunday, Jay and Katherine Wolf recount the journey they have walked through with God and show us that you can survive anything when you learn to redefine everything. Suffering will come to all of us, it's part of being human, but through knowing Jesus we can come to a place where we suffer with strength.

At Passion City Church we believe that because God has displayed the ultimate sacrifice in Jesus, our response to that in worship must be extravagant. It is our privilege, and our created purpose, to reflect God’s Glory back to Him through our praise, our sacrifice, and our song.

  • Humility before God is greater than exaltation before men. Suffering creates compassion within us as nothing else can. To be entrusted with difficulty and hardship is a blessing so many are just too weak to bear. For all those who believe God always heals and as a result of that ideology will heap condemnation upon those who live with wounded bodies, l can only say, let he who stands take heed lest he fall. The greater testimony is the one who serves God not because of what God can do for us but because of what He has already done. No one can know the difficulties of this walk unless having experienced it themselves. This couple presents a true picture of the love of God for the church, unconditional! And while l praise God for every healing, l praise Him more that we love and honor Him regardless, as our brother Job said, though He slay me, l am still His servant!

I love when Jay said, "What is it that you want from me in this relationship? Do you just want me to give you the good gifts and do the right things, or do you want to know the giver of every good and perfect gift? That's what I'm offering you is myself, not these outcomes. Your missing the point, Do you want to stop just hurting or do you want to know the healer of the world ? That's me"...
  • Jay and Katherine; you are so precious and I had the privilege of meeting you and attending a weekend conference in Palm Desert where you were sharing. So blessed that you are continuing to share your life with the world all for God's glory.

I'm an addict in recovery and have often felt disabled most of my life. I can relate to the brokenness she talks about. Great message!
  • Sooo good. Reminds me of what Elisabeth Elliott and Dr. Helen Roseveare say about receiving suffering as a privilege (Philippians 1:29). Thank you.

All i can say is This is so encouraging , i don't have an excuse anymore. They truly have and know the Joy of the Lord. There faith has really been tested( Daniel, Meshack and Abeneggo in the fiery furnace..and Nebuchadnezzar sees a fourth man in the furnace..Jesus Christ)
  • This was such a good message. God really used it to speak to me. Thank you Passion City Church and the Wolf Family!
  • I would so much like to meet and talk with you both. We, as married couples, have much in common, although you are both my daughter's age. In 2015 I had micro-brain surgery at UCSF at age 54. Had a 2nd brain surgery in June 2016. John ch 9 super important in my healing process also. Unknown to me, I was born with genetic ataxia, but not diagnosed until age 50. My wonderful husband of 30 years is also my caretaker. I have a 15lb titanium plate inside my skull, still have 7mm acoustic Schwannoma tumor behind Left ear, so deaf in 1 ear too. Have experienced many miracles. You have a wonderful story!! Soooo blessed🥰

I'm listening to this in the hospital waiting room, waiting for my wife to return from a regular appointment. I didn't realise that Katherine starts shouting when she is excited. I mean, that's fine.. But yeah, by the looks on the faces of the other people in the waiting room, I think I'll invest in a pair of headphones for the next hospital visit 😉
