Published 2021-05-29
A new build journey is exciting and stressful, and we want to arm you with the expertise to go through your new construction home with knowledge and confidence. The pre-sheetorck walkthrough is an extremely important stage in a new build and having your expert realtors alongside you can help assist in asking very crucial questions.

We walk through our new build journey with Minnesota custom home builder Stone Cottage Construction and cover the most important questions to ask during a Pre-sheetorck walkthrough

What is a pre-sheetrock meeting?
Your pre-drywall meeting is the meeting before all of your drywall goes in. You’ll be walking through the house at its framed stage—complete with wall studs, roof, electrical, and plumbing.

  • This video was more concerned about cosmetic concerns as opposed to what actually matters such as the structural, building codes, outside drainage, etc

Love the recap at 7:57. This video is so helpful for building our new house.
  • @yankabilly1963
Also take pictures and videos that way you now were everything is at for future leaks and electrical

Actually, this should be part 1 of 3. The next part should be re-inspection after the corrections you made. The third part of pre-drywall should be the insulation inspection. For example, will there be insulation around the tub you were sitting in before the tub installation, to keep the water warm longer when you use the tub. Best of luck with your new home.
  • I sure hope they were planning on doing another PRE drywall walk, because the Hack up your house trades are not finished ie: plumbers, hvac, and sparky in that order. And I did not catch what part of the country this was in, but will somebody please explain to me WHY the floors in the garage and lowest level are still DIRT at this point of construction?????? Definitely not something we do here in Florida.

It's absolutely crazy how the top 15% live .Good for them .
  • Move the plumbing now that there's a big 4 in diameter hole drilled in the top and bottom plates. Now has to drill two more of the same, nice, adds to the structural integrity. Shouldn't have this been part of the blueprint/design? Oops, a window in the wrong place. Electrical/plumbing tested? Where's the insulation?
  • @dreb2g
Which Should one hire a structural engineer or a home inspector for the pre drywall inspection?
  • @dalemotyl8978
A big miss you had in this video is blocking for the tvs, handrails and cabinets in the kitchen .
  • @Arational
Never heard of a real estate agent who was also qualified as a construction inspector.
  • @hd4100
Good information but the music is truthfully kind of stupid.
  • @vanmonroe4346
Too wordy, too slow, and too much music to be useful ---- pass after 1 minute in.
  • @striper8311
I’m building now and getting a 3d party inspector, I want someone working for me not the builder.
  • @jay-em
You need an inspector, not a realtor who is going to redesign the place halfway through the build.
  • @AED365
This video was awful. I did not search for a highlight montage music video of some random persons house. This is a textbook example of how not to make a YouTube video lol
