I call it the hump. Starting anything new involves getting over the hump. Once you have tried enough new things you instinctively understand that the hump is temporary.

"Impatience in action, patience in payoff" Can't recall who said this, but is a good one.
  • Did this about 6 weeks ago for the first time in my life, I took two weeks off work to kick off the project and then spent the next 2 to 3 weeks every waking hour to get it to a place where it just requires an hour or two a day to maintain now. Now I'm already feeling like adding a 2nd project with that one being manageable. Perfect timing to see this now and have it explained!

As someone running 6 businesses, I only start projects that I know are "frontloadable" and are possible to automate/delegate/outsource in the short-term, but I haven't thought about it like this before. It's precisely what I do. Brilliant analogy and visualization!

Thank you for short video, no music and authenticity.

I've been attempting to deal with multiple projects and I see that you arrived at the similar conclusions I deduced. It's really comforting to hear the same insights from a different person.

I'm glad to found you here, I lived TikTok because it was too much time consuming and you are one of the fews valuable content creator I miss

Very good analogy of launching projects with laughing airplanes 👍. Almost immediately, I had a boost of motivation and excitement to pursue my life projects. 😊

Leadership. Finding other people who have a vested interest in your project, getting them motivated and guiding them along the path.

I knew about the incredible power of building habits. But never tought of using that knowledge to help me give my everything when I'm nearing the peak of efforts. The idea that habit building ain't far away when efforts are at perceived peak is wonderful! Thank you!

I personally do many at a time and just consider everything a life project. Then it all gets done. Break it all into small systems and chip away. If it gains massive success in a decade, that's great, even more in twenty? Fantastic.

He’s actually describing the “hero’s journey”! Truth is, your whole LIFE is this. Not just starting a new job or learning each task yourself in a business and then handing it off to staff. In truth, your whole life is just fractals of this. I challenge anyone to show me ANYTHING….ANY ACTION OR EXPERIENCE that isn’t this. Can anyone do it?

Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed this video. If you liked it and found it helpful please let me know so I know what type of content you want to see more of! 😊
  • I’ve worked like this, with Front-loading, with almost every project I’ve ever done. I didn’t know this was what I was doing when I was younger, but this habit made me seem very “smart” to classmates and it makes me seem “put together” to colleagues at work. I have gone back to non-employee work as I ramp up in my own business. However, I actually had to put aside working on my business to learn this new gig. But I know I am giving maximum focus to this project so that I can go back to working on my business without feeling as if I am not doing my best in both businesses. I was having some doubts recently because I had to completely put aside one project in order to quickly become efficient in this gig work. This short video reminded me of my natural rhythm. And I am encouraged to recall that I will reach the point (soon) where I can decrease the amount of effort I put into this gig and go back to progressing in my own company.

this scale example is such a clear reminder! 🙏🙏🙏🙏 You just reminded me of the "pain" I went through organizing my new position after the promotion. I thought I was suck "forever' only to realize two month later, understanding more. Today, I am more relaxed yet do the same work. Thank you, really!

Graphical representation of the flywheel principle from Jim Collins, always good to have another way of representing or describing a similar pattern. Also helpful in explaining compounding efforts, when the height of the second or third peak is now lower (or the slope is more gradual) due to benefits from the first project.
  • @sgardypena955
Wow. This video immediately helped me understand how to organize my time better. I’ve been trying to start too many new projects in parallel. Completely going to change the way I’ve been working on projects. Thank you for this!
  • @westofbrickell
This is so true. I would add that the "perceived initial amount of effort" or initial hump gets smaller with each new project because you have more practice and awareness of it.
