If somebody threw a bucket of liquid on me on the subway I would immediately think that it was an acid attack and that I was about to die. My 4yo once took off down the driveway all of a sudden trying to chase a ball into the road. It happened so fast and I cannot believe how quickly he was going downhill, and for a split moment I was horrified I couldn’t catch up to him. A car was coming and screeched on their breaks but was sliding. When I got close enough, I shoved him forward to make him trip. Yeah, he scraped his knee and cried, and I felt horrible for pushing him to the ground but I barely even got my fingertips on his back by the time he was stepping a foot off the curb…but he lived. The driver got out and we both were crying and in shock; hugged each other and went on our way. So scary. You do what you gotta do!
