My dad died from emphysema in '85 from smoking and working at a glass factory for 27 years, but before he was on oxygen and wheelchair bound he would blow up balloons for exercise and it really helped him to loosen the phlegm. Remembering him always. 😔

Im going strong on my what feels like 100th attempt to quit right now. It does feel like this time will be different ❤ Nicotine replacement therapy when i‘m out socializing, drinking or around other smokers helps a lot!! Wishing everyone who is also trying to quit well! We can do it :)

I'm 41, started smoking when I was 11, this March will be 2 yrs since I've quit. I LOVED SMOKING!!!! They're your little buddies that are always with you. They've been a part of your life for soooo long! You use them as a dependent, a treat, a reward. Even though I deal with asthma, that wasn't a good enough reason for me to quit. That being said, they are not your buddies, they want to kill you! I quit cold turkey but I WANTED to quit. The mental part of it was harder then the physical cravings. The cravings subsided about 3 weeks after quitting but the mental part of it carried on for about 8 months. I'm a trucker and I always had the opportunity to smoke, all day long. What kept me going was my will power and researching how the body heals it's self after quitting, that was a big help for me. Also for motivation I looked at it this way... I'M PAYING THE GOVERNMENT TO KILL ME! I live in Canada, a large pack, 25 King size, 2 years ago was around $16... might be more now. I already pay a crazy amount of taxes here, why am I gonna keep paying this crazy price for cigarettes to the government? YOU HAVE TO WANT TO QUIT... AND THEN YOU WILL! I wish you well.

Let’s take this a step further and talk about oral hygiene. I remember reading, more than 25 years ago, that the same plaque that is in your mouth is the same plaque that can build up in our blood vessels. Flossing, brushing and oil pulling daily improves health! Appreciate your info☀️

I quit cold turkey, because of a cough.......prayed, prayed and prayed more all day long. If someone asked how are you doing, I said I want to die right now. From 2 packs a day to zero packs aday. never had a slip that was 1984......best decision of my life. Thanks be to God...........

Pineapple juice contains a mixture of enzymes called bromelain, which has strong anti-inflammatory properties . It's thought that bromelain can help with respiratory problems that are tied to allergies and asthma. It's also thought to have mucolytic properties that help break up and expel mucus This should be something every smoker or ex smoker eats 3 to 5 times per week for the first year ..
