  • Twenty five years ago I bought a run down Victorian house and saved it.
  • Its a shame something once loved and valued is no longer. What a gorgeous home❤
  • I love older homes with lots of little rooms, nooks and crannys

I would have liked to see what that mansion looked like when it was new or back in the early years after it was first built .
  • The reason why there Victorian houses have so much beautiful woodwork, the jigsaw was invented at the turn of the century.
  • A beautiful Victorian home ❤ I've always loved Victorian houses. As a kid I would sit and draw Victorian homes. ❤

My theory for what it's worth: so many "dens" and king size beds tells me that there were multiple families living here. Each family had a living area and a sleeping area.

When they put this place up for sale after the owner died, they put a lot of the stuff that had been piled on the porch inside the house. Older Google Maps photos show the front yard full of junk even a car up on blocks. I couldn't help but think that the original family would have been floored to see this beautiful home basically trashed. I really think that there's a mix of what the original family left in the house and what the new family must have brought in themselves.

I've daydreamed about rescuing an abandoned house. This one would do very nicely.

No one leaves everything behind unless there was aging death, car accident or a haunting.
  • Love to see old Victorian homes. Regarding the rooms on the first floor, one could have been a sitting room, a parlor, a conservatory, dining room, library, etc. Thanks for the tour!

I love that it’s a Victorian house. A bad storm probably hit this home. Beautiful Victorian Home and in the middle of a town. Someone needs to restore this home. It has good bones from 1800’s and somewhat still standing 💯👏🏾

The woodwork in the doorways 19:01 is called a spandrel. Beautiful millwork done in that home.
  • @Kimerly_7151
FYI the decorative woodwork and old mansions is called gingerbread. Have to respect the ornate woodwork. Great craftsmanship. Love your show!

What a stunning home and an absolute shame it was left to deteriorate. So many treasures still left inside. I hate to see it fall to complete ruin.
  • Beautiful woodwork and antique furniture. I’ve often wondered what keeps ppl from going in and stealing all that stuff? Who pays the electric bill? If property taxes aren’t paid, and bank foreclosed, why wasn’t it put on market and sold? If it was paid for why would the family have left? Just questions I’ve always wondered about. Keeping this family in my prayers! God Bless them. Seeing this makes me want to cry for that poor family.
  • My favorite part was the unusually shaped staircase, leading down to the front entryway. That made it both an interesting and pretty staircase.

This is a Victorian home but with 80's,90's furniture. Some are 1930s bedroom suites. I believe this is a 2 family duplex. Upstairs was a storm door in the hallway. I grew up in a Victorian home, and most walls are white. This family chose those outrageous colors. Its grandeur has been lost for years. It's a shame. Especially in the South. The folks can't take care of old homes, and the termites and nature take over.

That looks like eviction/forclosure. All the things left behind mid packing.
