Senegal & Burkina Faso's Leadership Shifts Ignites Continent-Wide Young Leadership Revolution!

Published 2024-03-27
Senegal New President Bassirou Diomaye Faye - In Senegal at this very moment, an air of triumph fills the streets. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, a 44-year-old opposition figure, stands on the cusp of ascending to the presidency of this West African nation. Remarkably, this comes mere days after his release from incarceration to contest the election. Yet, it's not just Diomaye Faye relishing in victory; the entire populace feels a sense of triumph. From exuberant gatherings to jubilant festivities preceding the official declaration, the euphoria coursing through Senegal is undeniable.
Faye's triumph is intriguing on multiple levels. Firstly, his recent stint in jail, just a fortnight prior to the elections, transforms his journey from prison to the presidential palace into a modern-day fairy tale. Secondly, he emerges as an underdog in comparison to the more popular contenders. Lastly, at a youthful age of 44, his rise to power defies the conventional norms prevalent in Africa, where elderly leaders often dominate the political scene. Nevertheless, there appears to be a shifting tide in Africa's presidential preferences. The continent seems to tire of the status quo of elderly leaders and now seeks the vigor, dynamism, and freshness that younger candidates like Faye represent.
Although the official results of Sunday's election were still pending, the former prime minister, who stood as the other leading candidate and enjoyed the support of the incumbent President Macky Sall, conceded defeat based on preliminary data. Following suit, Sall extended congratulations to Faye, acknowledging him as the victor.

God has allowed me to witness one of the pivotal change in Africa. This is a historical shift. It will bring political, economic and drastic social shift. Let's wait to see if African unity may be achieved within a decade from now.

  • @TwinTiger88
😃Lets hope we do not go from old corrupt to young corrupt😂
  • Africa is a young continent, and that should be reflected in politics and the governments, too. There are too many old and mostly corrupt leaders. The people decide, the next elections are coming.

Bravo new Generation leaders with new ideas needed in Africa
  • Congratulations to President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Ousmane Sonko, and the people of Senegal! To secure your promises to the Senegalese people, you should quickly open negotiations with the "Alliance of Sahel States." Remember the "Illustrious Ancestor," the polymath Dr. Cheikh Anta Diop whose most important work, in my opinion, is his visionary 1983 outline; "Black Africa - The Economic and Cultural Basis for a Federated State." The time for its implementation is Now. President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, secure your place among Africa's Visionary Servants of the People by leading Senegal, with popular support and minimal bloodshed, into the "Alliance of Sahel States" which is the precursor of the "Federated States of Africa."

Now I'm more certain that this continent shall unite! One government one people ! All the so-called supper powers have one government they are united, everyone of their people can move to and through independently. Why not Africa?
  • @playgirl7305
You forgot Nelson Chamisa, age 44 of Zimbabwe who won the elections last year. But the President 80 declared himself president anyway.

The day south Africa elects Mr Malema uhmm am waiting for that day
  • Indeed, it is a youthquake and we thank the Almighty for such political transition on our beautiful and rich continent of Africa. It is high time that particularly our youth but also others are given due respect and dignity in their own countries to which they also belong. Thank you very much Sonko and Faye for an excellent demonstration of convicción, dedicación and love. May you administer Senegal with the same spirit that drove you into politics on the first place. May God continue to protect, guide and bless you 🙏.
