In Pokemon Black 2, you can receive medals for completing nearly everything that the game has to offer. In total there are 255 medals, and I obtained all of them in a single month. This is how it went. This video took a lot of time and effort to put together, so I'd really appreciate it if you shared this with a friend. If you have any suggestions for the next video, leave it in the comments below! Have a great day :)

The most astonishing part of the challenge is how John managed to get copies of Black and White 2 for under $50
  • @Patterrz
Wonder what the local Unova NPCs thought about the main character getting on and off his bike 500 times then immediately checking 20 bins
  • I cannot overstate how difficult this really is. My Black 2 save which is going on 11 years old in just a few weeks here has over 600 hours playtime, a complete national dex, join avenue rank 100, and every trainer star, yet I still only have 190 medals. Congratulations on such an amazing accomplishment!
  • Fun fact: The music and jingles that play for the Medal Rally and XTransceiver minigames were made by Teruo Taniguchi. He’s mostly worked on sound effects and jingles for most of his time with the series. However, his big break finally came recently with all of Team Star’s music in SV!

For the people who didn't watch it live, one of the best moments not included here was when John was finishing up the boxes and talking about how it was his last chance to naturally get Pokerus as he entered the Pokemon Center. Naturally, Mr. Medal was there due to the medal for the boxes but John forgot that and jebaited himself into thinking it was the Pokerus medal. You could literally see the hope leave him as the realization hit. It was glorious

Despite a ton of the medals were tedious grinding things, I think this video shows just the sheer amount of content the developers put into the gen 5 games. They really went above and beyond, and what did we as the fan base do? Kill it ;(

I'm here not only to support Chugga Conroy and his metal addiction but also to support another Pokémon Contant creator I enjoy.
  • @chugga
Good work here! I hope to get pretty close one day, even if I don't quite do it! I'll have to ask how you got the Dream World ones! Those are the only ones I haven't figured out, never heard of that software...
  • @SuperHexer123
Between chugga using conventions and you using GO Fest for the 30 fun fest participants it fills me with joy to see all the people that still come together for online stuff.
  • It still astonishes me that this is the same person who beat Pokemon sun after 48 attempts

All these years later and I'm still blown away by the sheer girth of extra content, side missions, mini-games and just....stuff you can do in B2/W2. They really just put anything and everything they could think of to jam-pack those games with features and modes, battles and things to do. It's honestly that much more insulting that the current games we get in the franchise, on superior hardware and higher monetary investment, pale in comparison when it comes to overall content. Gen. 5 has always been my favorite, and your challenge only further cemented that for me, John. Good job on the run 👍

300 hours gameplay?! In a month?! Dude thats like 10 hours a day of playing... Man, the dedication you put into your videos is insane. Fantastic job, this is why every one of your videos is so unique and always a banger!
  • @minuro0603
(38:58 omg that's my map!) 38:04 John, thank you for the wonderful time you hosted that day in NYC! It was surreal for everyone playing BW2 after all those years. It was so lovely to meet you in person and I got the chance to know amazing people who helped me in more funfest missions later that day. Big congratulations on your medal run!!
  • @pircachupi4771
The wailord isn't random, it just appears if you go there between 3pm and 5pm. Also, the gold trainer card triggering that dialogue isn't a mistake, she specifically points out that it's a shining gold trainer card in both BW and B2W2. The highest level of trainer card in these games is the Black and White trainer card, one step above gold. I'm also fairly close to getting all of the medals, though I'm still a few off, and it's not anywhere near possible currently for me to get the 30 person funfest or 1000 point funfest medals.
  • @Turamaton
This is probably my most favourite video from you John. My Copy of Black 2 is now 11 years old and got around 3k hours of playtime, the time even stopped counting at 1k hours and I still dont have all the medals. The amount of effort you put into this is astonishing... Just the fact that you and the community managed to meet up in NewYork to do the festival missions is insane. I think people wont be able to get this medal ever again. Great work! Guys btw John streams on twitch, check it out!
  • @matthew44able
I have never imagined Black 2 of all games to have this much content crammed into a single cartridge. I didn't even know half of this stuff in this video even existed.
  • @calestial12
With this video, John has officially reached more patience than Smallant himself
  • @banana_jag8325
As someone who was present in John's lives of collecting these medals I must say I really did have a great time hanging out with everyone! Such a cozy atmosphere! :)
  • @teamacecaptain
This is why black&white and black&white 2 are one of the best pokemon games ever because there is just sooo much content and soo much stuff to do. Over thousands of hours worth of stuff its so awesome and sucks that they dont do this for the newer gens
  • @bruh-vp1fp
This was unironically fun to watch this live especially the type master ones where John walks in so confident and then gets swept.
