Rory McIlroy believes that players who have signed up to the LIV tour shouldn't be allowed to compete at this week's BMW PGA Championship, with Shane Lowry sharing similar views to the Northern Irishman.

All due respect to Rory as a player, but he has played the PGA Tour this season & is now playing a marquee event on the DP Tour, so is also taking a spot of a player that may need prizemoney to keep his card. Just like the LIV players, he is utilising his exemption into the event & just like the LIV signed players, Rory doesn't need the money.

The same could be said about the American pga players going there. They took a spot from a young european player. Honestly they should be shaking all the liv players hands and thanking them. Those players joined liv and tours miraculously found millions of dollars to add to the purses and pushed rory and tiger into building a league

So Rory wins $18m at the pga tour championship, which is a Different tour but then comes across to the European tour to it's flagship tournament. I'm confused how is that any different to what the Liv players like westy/poulter who have played more events than most on the European tour.

In my opinion Rory should turn up for the Irish open… If only he weren’t chasing millions to lift the prestigious and historic FedEx Cup on the PGA tour 😂

Then do you think that the LIV league players should get World points for their tournaments to qualify for the Open tournaments. I keep hearing the PGA boys saying they want the best players in the world. But only if they aren't in the LIV league. ALL Pro Golfers play for money and ALL hope to get trophies and titles..... But money is first.

The irony of Rory’s point while he’s playing a DP tour event is clearly lost on him. Taking one of those spots he’s talking about.

Lowry - lol. "I don't mind the players that I like playing here but I don't want the players I can't stand playing here". Wouldn't that be the same all the time - regardless of which tour they played on?😂

Question, is Rory playing both the PGA tour and The DP when he feels like it any different? How many journeymen or DP regulars are missing out on spots and money to make way for Rory and Billy etc?

McIlroy signed an enormous contract with Nike. Let's not pretend there's no financial incentive in his head. Why is McIlroy playing in this tournament but not the Irish Open....or the Andalucia Masters.....or the Italian Open? McIlroy left the European tour to play in the States.
