they do a good job establishing the lore of the Goa'uld and Jaffa into their own consistent sci fi universe

This and Stargate Atlantis are my favorite shows. First few episodes are a bit rough but they get way better as the show progresses
  • Fun fact in the original pilot they actually showed the Goa'uld enter Kowalski, I guess for the director's cut they wanted it to be a surprise in episode 2.

"He didn't throw her that hard in the elevator, just saying." Actually the actor playing Kawalski accidentally knocked Amanda Tapping out during the filming of that take, so when she slumped down like that she actually was unconscious!
  • These first three episodes are kind of the setup and with episode 4 the show starts doing its thing.
  • Season 2 is the best. My first introduction was the episode By the Grace of God one at the end of this season. Needless to say i had to catch up including the movie.

"maybe if they run electricity through his body" Not to spoil it but about 9 years from now they figure out you can just taze someone to supress the parasite for a couple minutes.

The first season does have some of the absolute best and some of the absolute worst. It's mostly world building episodes with each season having a more of an overarcing plot. The team dynamic and how its built is really well done, the evolutions of Teal'c's and Daniel's personalities specifically. You can slowly see Shanks making Daniel his own character in a natural way. Hammond (RIP Don S Davis) becomes one of the best generals/leaders in film.
