  • She didn't have ANY of his history, didn't review ANY of his records, and only went on HIS word AFTER he had been incarcerated and had already decided he was going to try and get off on an insanity plea. How is she qualified in any way to make any diagnosis, provide medication, and testify in court as to his disorders based on that alone?! This is absolutely and totally ridiculous. "Did you have evidence of hallucinations?" -- "He told me multiples times he hallucinated, so yes, that was my evidence." Even if he was acting nuts in jail does not prove ANYTHING about what was going on prior to that, and as she states, she didn't even bother to look at any of his records. None of them. Basically she was getting paid to medicate the crap out of him -- 10 pills in the morning and 8 in the evening?! Were they doing blood or urine tests to make sure he was taking his medications? This is the most ridiculous of all the "experts" I have seen take the stand so far. Another great job by the prosecution in debunking this doctor.

No, with hallucinations you don't "always have to take someone's word." I've worked in the mental health field. People who are having hallucinations usually give behavioral cues that can be observed objectively.
  • @Livin4Him...
I can only imagine how many cases this doctor has and how busy she is. It sounds like it was just easier for her to prescribe medicine rather than get to the real issues. And when one script caused a side effect, she just prescribed another one for those side effects, and on & and on.

He is angry that people on the streets have empathy and sympathy for Amber. Yep he is not sorry he killed his children, he did it to get back at Amber.
  • The fact that he insisted he's insane,is a huge clue,the insane don't think they arešŸ˜„
  • @letolethe5878
Not a syllable of what she says about treating him years after the crimes proves he was insane at the time of the crimes themselves.
  • After watching so many murder trials I have become aware that any penalties given these killers come nowhere in the realm of punishment. Children lose their one chance at a long life with all the joys and love and happiness they are due. Parents live will be horribly changed. So here we watch these killers getting medications to ease DEPRESSION!! Good God they should be forcefully depressed. Anyone kills a child = death penalty. Done.

I'm sure on the stand she heard how ridiculous she sounded, but did not want to retract what she had diagnosed him with because she didnt want to look like an incompetent doctor. Furthermore, she reminds me of military doctors who have so many patients they dont have time and some just dont care to look into what it is the patient is claiming and just give them what they believe they're are asking for.
  • ā€œI could hardly talkā€ cause he had to get it all out you know...... lovey lovey lovey maybe less talking and more listening. I find it incomprehensible that you donā€™t realise heā€™s conned you.
  • Absolutely Ridiculous!! He needs be held accountable for the deaths of all these beautiful Babies Upon watching this trial thus far..I haven't heard any testimony by all drs..That he is insane!! He shows no emotions, empathy for these beautiful babies,I believe the babysitter who showed true Emotions, testimony for these babies..God Bless her..Babies R.I.P amen..

With all these experts, the defense is actually making three separate insanity defenses, none of them very coherently or convincingly, and they are hoping the jury doesn't recognize that they're basically throwing anything at the wall to see what sticks. First they had experts talk about his traumatic brain injury and they're arguing that that injury, which showed no ill effects for most of his adult life, suddenly caused him to kill his kids. Then they had experts talk about his drug use and say that that caused him to kill his kids. Well, drug or alcohol impairment is not and has never been an allowable defense against murder in any state. Now they're saying he has schizophrenia, which no one ever suspected or noticed before, and that suddenly made him kill his kids. I think the jury will see through all this.

When you consider how many inmates she must take care of, how does she even get away with not having notes! I donā€™t get it. I know I mentioned it before but she really baffles me with this lack of notes!
  • @ogcatlady
Why does Dr. Wood keep looking at him when she is answering!?? I think Dr. Wood has a little crush and enjoys the attention she gets from the inmates.
  • @cmmorris1969
How does this dr even remember specifics without notes in front of her?

I wonder who is responsible for the extreme ignorance of the employees and/or utter lack of care within South Carolina's Human Services departments, such as DSS, our prisons, and ALL of the other State agencies. SCARY!!
  • "On the weekends they don't coincide with mealtimes, so that's another challenge". FFS. Could they not have some high calorie bars in the clinic?
  • @sherylnsc
I live in South Carolina and pray that I don't become mentally ill or commit a crime, because the prison in Columbia must be as poorly staffed (incompetents, etc.) as DSS, or childrens' services has proven to be. Where are our tax dollars going???
