A brutally honest review of The Sims 4 Lovestruck

This EP could've been a great opportunity to give evil/mischievous Sims something to do like sabotage others Sims dates, be a serial catfisher, be a dine-and-dash dater, or go to a cheating lover's house and break their stuff. Sims needs to embrace rewarding bad behavior

i just don’t understand how my wedding stories was a game pack and then this was an expansion…why didn’t they combine the two and make it one big expansion

Older sims packs need a drastic price drop it's literally over £1,154 to get all the DLC like it's so unapproachable

Since this EP's theme is about love and romance, it could have been better if they also included gameplay to other life stages like children can experience puppy love or crushes, teens may experience "first love", adults and elder sims can have the sugarparent trait/aspiration.... Also apart from the heart-shaped tub missing, it's also a crime that they also forgot to include a kissing booth in this pack... So many missed opportunities

This is not an expansion pack nor game pack, this is just base game. Why I should pay like 40 dollars to flirt and date, gurl bye. Thanks for the review Satch ❤

When I heard the pack comes with an attraction system, I expected an actual one. Not a "Ooo you wear a blue T-shirt you are hot!" like, I still can't get over it and will probably never.

I can’t believe they only added 3 cross pack date interactions….. like literally wtf… they’ll never get my money again in this lifetime… I hope all sales tank!

Spa dates, bowling dates, skiing, camping, going to a festival, beach combing, etc. All cross pack things they could have added.

The missing doors are hilarious 😂 Also completely agree that there is no reason to have vacation in rentals in some of these worlds. San Sequoia has one too. Why would I ever send my sim on a vacation there 😭

Not only it has no depth, but also they reworded features from base game and called it new. For example: two aspirations that exist since base game Serial Romantic and Soulmate. That’s just the same as Romantic Explorer and Paragon Partner. It’s literally the same. And the reward for Serial Romantic is Player making the entire boundary system null and void. Just give two sims a player trait (how is that even a reward for serial romantic?  Wouldn’t a reward affect the sim with the aspiration instead of other sims?) and you have an open relationship. One of the new traits is lovebug, but we already have romantic in Base Game and noncommittal. No new venues, no new craftables, nothing new for kids or toddlers. Dating app is basically slightly changed social bunny and equally shallow. You are paying $40 dollars for a new world, a rabbit hole, 2 refurbished, re-worded traits, 2 existing and re-worded aspirations, shallow dating app, 3 new objects with minimal animations, another addition to an already cluttered and illogical interaction wheel, turn off and turn on es that are just additions to existing preferences. They also gave you the pleasure to kill non existing jealousy (since sims don’t don’t actually react to cheating as it is) and called it open relationships. Except all relationships in sims 4 are open because sims are mindless, poorly coded, little effing happy clones. EA is selling this expansion with less features then a game pack and refurbished reworded existing content. It is absolutely disgusting. At this point I need EA to clearly define wtf the mean by expansion. Because if it’s smaller than a game pack it’s not an expansion.

They turn everything into a horrible task instead of the fun quirky chaos that the older games had in them. It should be fun to go on a date in a game, not a stressful chore.

I think we should just collectively stop buying the sims as a protest. They can’t keep doing this and getting away with it.

As soon as this EP was announced, I knew this would be a disaster. A pack focused on sim social interactions - in a 10 year old game with horrible, outdated townie AI. Especially in combination with the 70+ DLCs, which make the unstable AI even more prone to bugs and glitches. At this point, I'm only looking forward to Satch ripping the new packs apart :D

The fact this decided wether or not I got this pack really says something about the amount of trust I put on Satch 😂

If EA got the details right, they'd get away with more cash grabby things. Like make all the builds 100% playable, tag all the build/buy and CAS correctly, make collectible spawn points, make the lots touch the pavement and make the gallery photo side make sense. These things cost no money, but they consistently get them wrong and it shows they just rush everyone and don't care 😢
