What If Naruto Was Adopted By The Uchiha?

The Title says it all. That is the type of story I want to dive into today. But more than just any Uchiha family, I wonder what would have happened had Sasuke’s family in particular adopted Naruto. There are some obstacles to this what-if that I first need to talk about. Naruto is the Nine-Tails’ Jinchuriki, and likely wouldn’t even be up to being adopted, as, despite his loneliness, The Third Hokage was technically taking care of him. Where do you think his apartment came from? Since when is a five year old able to buy an apartment or groceries? The second reason would be due to the Uchiha themselves. The Nine-Tails was under the control of an Enemy’s Sharingan, and as such, the Uchiha themselves, while never specifically stated, were under suspicion after the attack, in which they were moved to a place on the outskirts of the village to keep an eye on them. Given that Naruto technically IS the Nine-Tails, it normally wouldn’t be considered wise to place him into the hands of the people who were suspected of using the Nine-Tails to destroy the village. However, let’s give the Third Hokage the benefit of a doubt, and say he trusted Fugaku far more than the others, believing that the Uchiha were truly trying to help, and used the logic that if the Nine-Tails ever broke free that the Uchiha could control it. So let’s just suspend our disbelief for a moment and assume that it’s possible using the aforementioned logic as a reason why Naruto might be allowed to be adopted by the Uchiha Clan. Now that we have the stage set, we can begin. But first…

He would've injected some bright idealism into the Uchiha, certainly tapering their curse of hatred and maybe even heading off their planned coup war without bloodshed. Naruto tends to do that. In return he'd learn to operate more in conjunction with the system.

I do like how this, in a roundabout way, gives more backstory to Memna. Cause honestly, he needs it.

My biggest problem with this is that it's very unlikely that the coup would continue to be planned given that Hiruzen was trusting the Uchiha with Konoha's greatest secret and greatest weapon, thereby eliminating the reason for the coup to even be planned. What better show of trust in the Uchiha than giving them control over something that could wipe out Konoha? Therefore, Itachi would have no reason to murder his clan or undertake his journey as the Shadow Hokage of Konoha. EDIT: Another issue is that the Temple of Nirvana technique would not work on Naruto if he had a relationship with Kurama because Kurama could immediately snap Naruto out of any Genjutsu but a Sharingan.

Personally I think that the Uchiha massacre wouldn't happen because the Uchiha wanted the nine tails as a trade for being moved and to make sure the village wasn't against them.

This would make the entire timeline vastly different, and I'm here for it. Cause I hate, absolutely hate, the fact that Hiruzen basically abandons Naruto after Minato asked him to look after the boy.

I don't think Sunade would die because Orochimaru wanted her to heal him. So I think the worst that could happen would be her getting captured

This "what if Naruto was adopted by the Uchiha clan" could have turned differently if we consider that Naruto being under the supervision and care of the Uchiha clan could have calmed down the tensions between the clan and the village enough for the Uchiha to not attemp a coup at least for many years after. But in this story Itachi definitly didn't think things through since his actions indirectly caused the Destruction and death of the village and the brothers he wanted to protect 😒
