the only person the defense has managed to move....is Tim Jones with that miraculously still bone dry handkerchief..
  • So they are going with a John List defense. It is a sin to commit suicide but killing your children is getting them to Heaven so they are "saved" I saw the way he looked at his ex wife. He was punishing her.
  • He wouldn't beat them if he loved them. He enjoyed torturing them.

Oh my god this is the WORST defense closing I've ever heard. The co-workers said nothing like what this pitiful person is claiming. They didn't say he had a diseased mind. Most said they liked him and that he was smart and normal. They said he was outgoing and could talk to people.

I feel so sorry for the jury...having to listen to this horror. So tragic..😢

Jones doesn't shed a tear he hears about how he choked the life out of his helpless children but cries when defense talks about himself crying.

Love how the defense tells every single detail of Jone's sad little life but then suddenly jumps from his acting "like a normal father" on their last day alive to driving around with them dead in his van, completely glossing over the actual murders.

He's not capable of empathy. Sorry, "little tim" we don't buy the fake tears.

Even if part of his actions are related to drugs, that's not a defense!

I love how the defense is trying to blame everyone but Jones for the deaths: DSS, the wife, the father, the school for not doing enough.
  • The defense lawyer sounds like Jim Jones or some fire and brimstone preacher. I am not moved!! I suffer with mental illness and I have NEVER hurt my children. NEVER!
  • Excellent Closing argument The Prosecuter Nailed it!!! Timothy Jones Jr.. Believed in God-Right ? Well if he did then he must have known-the 5th Commandment "Thou Shalt not Kill" He showed no Empathy,No remorse, the tears are for himself.. These Babies Call for Justice.. I feel he knew exactly what he was doing!! Guilty on all counts.. The DP fits this crime... May These babies finally R.I.P.. Children are so innocent.. so sad...Amen...

I want to know who the red headed woman is that has been beside him the entire trial. Is that the only type of woman he would allow near him? She has no makeup, hair not cut, dresses...she must be from his church. I can’t imagine any woman willing to sit that close to a man that would strangle the life out of 5 children. That is a personal type of murder.....he had to look each child in their face and watch the life leave their little body. MONSTER....straight out Satan on earth.
  • This defense closing argument just doesn't resonate for me. Tim Jones tears don't convince me he was insane at the time that he killed his beautiful innocent children.
  • Who cares? Even if he were crazy I’m satisfied he has the death penalty.

Another thing I don't understand.....WHY is he using the same cloth to wipe his (dry) eyes throughout the WHOLE trial?? If that snot rag was sopping wet from tears and snots, he'd have a new one the next day! I don't think it worked in the defenses favor to put him on a high dose of medication that he most likely didn't need to be on, because the dude didn't even BLINK much less show any emotion throughout the entire trial.
