Purl, directed by Kristen Lester and produced by Gillian Libbert-Duncan, features an earnest ball of yarn named Purl who gets a job in a fast-paced, high energy, bro-tastic start-up. Yarny hijinks ensue as she tries to fit in, but how far is she willing to go to get the acceptance she yearns for, and in the end, is it worth it?

I love this. It's realistic. You can't force people to accept you but you can make an effort to fit in first and slowly introduce them to the real you. It's not that the guys are evil, it's just that she is unfamiliar and people tend to stay away from unfamiliar things, so she made herself into something they are comfortable with and slowly convince them to try something new. She first earned their respect and from then on it's easier
  • This is how I felt in a company I worked. I was purl, I never changed who I was, but people started to respect me. I was a top worker and some of them didn't like me because of that. Suddenly more people entered the company and I was the path, to make things smooth for them. I don't regret it.
  • wait, all of Purl's stuff is covered in yarn But she's made of yarn too PURL'S LAPTOP IS COVERED IN FLESH

Is it just me? Or does purl look like she’s running at a lower frame rate than anyone else?
  • I've watched this so many times and I only just now realized that, during the scenes where Purl is trying to fit in, when she's telling the joke at 4:42, not only is she telling a joke that "seems like one a man would make," but it's not even her own self saying the joke in the story, she's talking about a man who told it

  • Pixar: *Swears* Everyone else: Now that’s an avengers level threat

Genuinely thoughtful message. It’s not portraying conformity as necessarily a bad thing, more like an adaption to your environment. Also while being able to slowly change that environment with your own actions.
