Super Bowl XLII is widely regarded as one of greatest upsets in NFL history. The Patriots set numerous offensive records while going undefeated throughout the season, whereas the Giants were 10-6 and looked like a team marked with inconsistency. However, the Giants elite pass rush and uncanny play from quarterback Eli Manning would prove to be enough to defeat the Patriots in one of the most memorable Super Bowls of all time.

My Uncle was murdered on December 5th 2007, he was such a huge Giants fan that we buried him with his Eli Jersey in his casket. I'll always remember my Grandmother saying a few days later that she felt the Giants were gonna make it to the super bowl and win because they had an angel with them. I'm not a Giants fan (SKOL Vikings!) But on this night it was one of the greatest sports moments in my life and I'll always be thankful to this team for the joy they brought my family during our hard time.
  • As a giants fan, I don’t care how bad we’ve been these past years, winning 2 Super Bowls against prime patriots will hold me over anything.
  • Thank you Eli Manning and the Giants for protecting the entire NFL fan base from having to listen to Patriots fans talk about a perfect season.

Bellichek has been on the sideline for every Giants superbowl win.

The year the giants saved the world from the evil empire

People always talk about the tyree catch but how Manning was able to escape on that play was just bonkers

2:02:35 MANNING... LOBS IT! BURRESS, ALONE! TOUCHDOWN NEW YORK! Unforgettable and timeless call. An eternal icon of NFL lore.
  • As a Giants fan, I wouldn't trade the Eli Manning era for anything. It was an incredible time, and I assume his last season will be 2019.

No matter how many times I watch this, I get the chills. No matter what team you like, I think everybody can agree that this may be one of the greatest games in NFL history.

Could you imagine how inflated Patriots fan's egos would have been if they went undefeated? Thank you Giants from saving us from that hell!

Big Giants fan. I remember I was working that day and kept running to the breakroom to check the score. I absolutely lost it when they won. One of my greatest memories

Can we all respect the fact they all had #21 on their helmets in honor of Sean Taylor. Taken from us way too soon. RIP

Honestly this is probably one of the best defensive showing in a game in nfl history by the giants. Holding arguably the greatest offense of all time and undefeated team to just 14 points on the biggest game is truly amazing.
  • What the Giants did should be talked about for DECADES of football. True Underdogs. Eli Manning should be in the HOF just for these super bowl performances. Incredible.

The greatest slice of humble pie ever served.

Nearly 10 years ago and this game still puts a smile on my face.

Eli was the definitive underdog of the century. You’ll probably never see another one of his kind in your lifetime. To beat 3 playoff contenders, then go on to beat 18-0 Patriots?? Unreal. Then do it again 4 years later. Wow. For those losers to BENCH Eli in 2016 how dare they...the giants deserve bad luck for a decade after that rude ass ungrateful move. And I guarantee you McAdoo only benched him because he was a former Packer himself. Loser.
