On a serious note those line drives are extremely scary and can kill someone. I feel bad for pitchers, glad he’s ok 💯 👌🏾
  • Even the Ump was like, "You looked like the Matrix out there "

Took that red pill before the game, Matrix McHugh! GO 'STROS!

That is one serious avoidance - unbelievably scary and damn that was a serious shave Wow; one of the scariest moments in baseball when a hit comes straight back at the pitcher He IS Neo
  • @GreenFenril
"That was The Matrix. Are you Neo?" HP Umpire Chris Guccione

Looking back at the replay in slow-motion, I have no idea how the heck that didn't hit him! That's amazing!

On the replay you can see the ball hit the bat close to the handle and had a ton of side spin so it was probably traveling around 70mph unlike a squarely hit line drive that can travel over 100mph. Nonetheless it is still hard to dodge and could of injured him.

Damn. I love how the umpire made a Matrix reference too.

McHugh wife: if you get hit by a ball tonight you gotta do the dishes. McHugh: HAHA BET

they talk about it so casually but if he was a millisecond late, forget concussion that line drive wouldve killed him.

I saw this live and the matrix is what instantly came to mind when it happened. The commentator had the same idea

No matter what, this will be the play of the year, maybe of the century. Can't see how anyone could top that move.

Just happened to Cishek tonight too, top of the 6th inning at Home against the Yankees. Reminded me of this!

I came back to see this one year later.

As good of a move as it was, he is lucky the batter didn’t square up on that ball or he would have had no chance of getting out of the way.
