Mike Weirsky, 54, may have lost out on his winning ticket if not for the good deed of Phil Campolo, a cashier at a convenience store in New Jersey.

Guy at least deserves a million for saving the tickets for him.

The kid deserves to live the rest of his life comfortably.
  • "Money doesn't change you, it amplified who you really are"...this quote right here applies to this man's life

I'd give the ex wife $0, and the cashier about 5 million.
  • @Kerefe
He looks like the type to give him $50 out of the 273M

I’d give that man a million dollars just for being so honest. What an amazing human

"I'm gonna give him something" takes him to McDonald's and says why don't you order something off the dollar menu.

The cashier looking at him thinking: where's my million dollars man
  • That cashier is what I could safely call “an honest to GOD” guy… his parents must be very proud of him.
  • I remember this guy. His wife said she didn’t want his money but wants the courts to cancel the spousal support order which she’s been paying for 15 years.

If a woman had won the lottery ticket, you best believe that female reporter would’ve argued for a lot lower.

I'd at least give him a million. Anything less would be a crime.
  • I will keep my wife who support me for 15 years and I also kept the guy who is so honest and kind. The best man around me.

I really hope that guy gave the cashier a lot of money. That kid totally deserves it.

Imagine having $273M and still being a cheap skate
  • @Vj45459
I would give him at least a $10 million dollars.
  • Just goes to show - honesty really pays off. Well done to that Cashier. Now because of his actions he has made a man extremely rich and no doubt he will be handsomely rewarded. This is good karma for good people. This story brought tears to my eyes.
