Marathon my Age: My decimal age on March 2nd, 2022 was 42.195, which by no coincidence is also the length of a marathon in kilometres. To celebrate being alive, based on the actions of two people almost 43 years ago, I decided to run the famous distance around my district, retracing my history via schools, homes, memories and odd experiences that have shaped me, mum and dad over this marathon-chunk of time.

  • Thanks Beau, for teaching us that adventure can more easily be found on our doorsteps, than anywhere else. Love your philosophy, and your sense of humor just as much. All the best!

"Ah, shit. I've gone past it." Never change, Beau
  • @Budabaii
I just celebrated my 27th birthday by sleeping for 27 hours straight.
  • man, I love this guy's attitude and perspective. No need for a fancy watch or wicked fast splits. Just go out somewhere cool, swing on a swing, get a little lost, come home with a smile and a tree in your backpack.

I can imagine when Helen picks Beau up she knows theres at least a dozen stops on the way home for apples, plants, pots and pans and an assortment of goodies lol! What a great start to the day always gets us here motivated to get out and about! Cheers Beau agree a bloody Legend!
  • This video is the definition of "It's not about the destination, its the journey that gets you there." The bloke sets out with the goal of running a set distance for his decimal birthday, but it ends up being a nostalgia trip (which as an outsider was so wholesome to see by the way.) and in the end he went over the bloody number anyway!

One of the best skills this guy has is that he finds something to be happy and excited about. I could stand to get a bit more of that into my life. Kudos to you, Sir.

Only Beau could take an olive tree for a run and have it just seem like a totally natural part of his day. Brililant as always, congratulations on the marathon!

I've spent time reminiscing over the past few weeks. My mum passed away at the beginning of the month. I grew up in rural Wales and spent a lot of my time exploring. I think I'll go home next month and have a look around for the first time in a while. See what I find.
