As a Dutch person, the more i listen to it, the more I cry. Everytime I understand the lyrics more and more. Joost is very good with songwriting and the lyrics of this song is so deep

Explanation of the end part. Joost's dad told joost when he was very young. That borders (Also dutch for limits) were made by humans. And that they don't really exist. Joost's dad died when he was 12. A year later his mother died aswell. At the end he says that he misses his dad and tells his dad that he listened to him.

Croatia here, we have #1 song on Eurovision, but I wish this song wins because its message is beyond our borders...And dad, you made it... In just 12 years you managed to raise a kid Like him, good job and Rest in peace...

The song is typical of the Netherlands. It is in Dutch, a music genre, the music video features mills and stunning Dutch landscapes. Eurovision is an emotional affair for Joost. As a child, he watched it together with his parents. "Parents, one day I'm going to be on Eurovision stage" and he did. Unfortunately, his parents died when he was a child. This song is dedicated to his late father. That's why it's called EUROPAPA. The part in the song βI'm in Germany, but I'm so alone. I'm in Italy, but I still feel the pain, etc.", I feel it's directed at his parents... Joost loved his parents and still does. His lyrics are mostly very deep, but the melody is happy, danceable and the clips of his song are presented in a fun way. I'm so proud of him.
