    I actually think this is some of the coolest / most impressive athletic and skill feats in the Olympics. You need to be so competent at a variety of things. Rennaisance man!

    Those saying this is a weird sport with random events have to understand that modern pentathlon was about measuring skills thought to be useful for a soldier of the 19th century when the Olympics was being conceived. So back then, horse riding, and sword fighting was still a thing. Shooting is obviously important for a soldier. Swimming was something every soldier needed to learn. And running demonstrates athletic prowess a soldier needs.

    No Olympics will ever top Paris in regards to venue placement. The French gave the key to Paris to the world. Simply amazing optics.

    One of my favorite sports. Pure Olympic spirit. It was the first ticket I bought when decided to go to the Rio Olympics.

    They will be discontinuing this event in 2028 and onwards so this and the women’s final tomorrow will be the last times we’ll see medals awarded for the pentathlon.
