Carvana ups and downs..
I have been looking for a truck for forever… I had test drove pretty much everything you can think of.. I was on auto trader every day for about a year after work looking for the perfect truck… there isn’t a perfect truck…
I had seen commercials of Carvana and heard of a few people thinking about buying a car off of carvana several times but never anyone I actually knew.
I was definitely skeptical like anything else the first time you do something.

o I have been to many dealerships checking out f150’s Silverado 1500, and Nissan titans.
o I got my preapproval letter from Bank of America b4 starting the process with Carvana because I know BofA has some great interest rates, for me it was 2.59%
- I pulled the trigger and purchased the truck on November 22nd 2020.
o This particular truck was at another lot, it wasn’t actually at a main carvana location, so the pictures weren’t as clear as the main ones and I couldn’t see the bed of the truck at all
- I go back and forth between bank of America and Carvana at least 3 to 4 times to try to mediate the deal.
o As it was thanksgiving week, things dragged out a big longer than normal.
o If I would have used carvana financing, that process probably would have been much smoother
- I schedule the FIRST delivery on December 1st at 10:30am EST
o The morning of December 1st @ 10:20am EST (facility is 45 minutes away mind you) the driver calls me up and she says this is a very big truck, she would feel more comfortable if I came and picked it up.. I assured her she was fine and to get help etc..
o 2 hours later at about 12:30 am EST – 2 hours after the truck was supposed to arrive.. she pulls up with the beautiful tundra on her truck.. then I see this picture.
o She says I will be with you in a minute… she looks to be frantically looking around for something.
o A few minutes later she tells me she has bad news.. she lost the keys… She tells me she will have to come back tomorrow.
o She also told me she had lost keys before… not a good feeling
- Later that day I call up carvana and tell them what happened. They ask me if I didn’t show up and that I had an emergency… that’s what the tow driver said. Tow driver lied and said I didn’t show up. I was a bit furious at this point…
o That same conversation they told me that they would be bringing a copy of a key the next day (no original keys).. then I would receive one original Toyota key in the mail a few days later… what about the second original key?
- They told me they would be delivering the truck at 10:30am EST on December 2nd (tomorrow)
- The next morning a new driver calls me up and says he was about to be on his way, but he tried to start the tundra and it wouldn’t start, also if they deliver the truck today, I wouldn’t receive a registration potentially until the next week because their registration lady is OOO today and the next day…
o very frustrated I call carvana, I ask for the manager, I speak with her (I will not name her), she is very courteous and professional. She says we have found the original keys.
o She also says they will be having a mechanic look at the truck to see what is wrong.
o About 3pm that day she says they replaced the battery and all is well. One of the keys needed to be reprogramed as well.
o She apologies for how badly the process has gone with me and she offers me an amazon gift card…
o She says she promises it will go smoother now, and she is putting her top guy on my case to deliver the truck on time and to help in any way he can.
- Scheduled delivery for Friday December 4th at 10:30am
o The driver shows up about 10 minutes early and the process was very smooth.
o Took for a tiny little test drive around the block, does the plates + registration.
o We found a few large scratches on top of the hood and on the roof. Took pics, got an email a day later about how to get them repaired (with Maaco) for free..

Overall, the experience was smooth (thank god for the manager straightening things out)
- I may have canceled my order if it weren’t for the courteous manager making sure everything was good to go

- So far so good, I had the truck inspected by Toyota, everything is good with the truck and I am very happy with it.
- I got about $1500 more for my trade than any other dealer would offer me. Toyota corolla was my trade.
- Pricing was on par with competition but it was a pretty smooth process overall.
- There were no extra fees on top of the truck…
- I would recommend to friends and family overall, I’m sure I will purchase from carvana again.

    I bought a GX460 2 years ago from Carvana. The whole process was very smooth. No delay, no mishap. The only thing I didn’t like was it came with cheap floor carpet. It’s been 2 years now without a single problem with the car.

    I just bought a car from them. Honestly, it was the easiest & fastest car purchase I've ever made. Paperwork took like 1/2 hour, was delivered to their facility a week later. The car only had 12k miles on it and essentially is brand new. Would highly recommend them.

    Awesome video! I’ve been going through something similar, car got delivered to location prior to my house. Driver called me an let me know that there was damage that wasn’t described in the posting. Spoke with customer service, and they are having everything fixed. Also giving me a $250 check for the inconvenience.

    I just went through this and very similar, wouldn't start car was dirty inside and damaged in transit. 6 weeks for delivery, and the mileage was different than paper work..... they are getting it back
