    As a half Newf, Half Italian. Just came back from the Rock to the Mainland. This place has my heart and heritage . The people are Gold. I love this place and I will die here.

    I'm a Newfoundlander. I'm 41 years old. my responsibility tells me a horrible crime against nature took place here. in my very home. We are responsible for the loss of an entire race. A benevolent people. May they ever be remembered in our flag and hearts for all future generations. We can never right this wrong.

    I'd love to know where the filmmakers got the detail that "23 of Guy's colonists" died in the winter of 1612-1613 at Cupids. Every account I've seen is based on Henry Crout's journal which only lists 8 deaths that winter.

    Very interesting. James Winters is correct, however I don't feel guilty about some of the violent past because I had nothing to do with it. It's unfortunate but that's the way it was in just about every part of the world at some time.
