Running theory: Rasheed is so well-regarded among his peers because he was there when they joined the Master Race, probably taught them everything they know about building rigs and seems to be a positive, unifying presence among their crew. Hence why HIS sacrifice is the only one that actually seems to move them: with Rasheed gone, they've lost an icon, a pillar of their community, and making fun of the console peasants will never be the same.
