As a fellow South Indian, I think our pain of misrepresentation is absolutely nothing compared to the discrimination of NORTHEAST Indians.
  • @Attitudezero884
Another biggest stereotype on South Indians i have seen is South Indians are vegetarians while in reality is South Indians eat more non veg compared to others.😂😂😂😂😂

The weirdest part is the fact that Chennai Express was directed by Rohit Shetty, a South Indian. The lead actress, Deepika, is also a South Indian.
  • @navtej1546
funniest part of Chennai express is that it doesn't even take place in Chennai or Rameswaram . heck, it doesn't even take place in south India.
  • Not to mention Hollywood is doing a better job! Casting a Tamilian for Tamil role and giving him all due respect.

As a South Indian who has no idea what the hell is going on in Bollywood, I am excited for the premiere

As a guy from Sikkim I can feel you.. Last time I was in Siliguri for the National Youth Parliament, some guys from other States had come to participate and we exchange pleasantries, and they literally asked me if we eat with chopsticks, and wear Chinese clothing and eat bats and dogs.. I mean like we do eat with Chopsticks but not always and Rahi baat Bats and dogs they're myth.. we don't eat bats and dogs here.. nad why would we wear Chinese dress..

I live in Bangalore, so I have friends from different parts of India. I did a project on linguistic bias and stereotypes and the responses I got from each state were insane.
  • I’m from Chhattisgarh, despite being part of Hindi belt we have zero representation in Bollywood. When I saw Malayalam movie “Unda” I cried my heart out. It was for the first time I saw my state and people being represented so beautifully. They even casted one of the local actor to play an important side character. Music of that film was culturally rooted. And most importantly the movie successfully depicts the struggle of tribals in hands of armed forces and militants.

As a south Indian, Chennai express movie was such a cultural shock to me.

Not only does Kashmir to Kanyakumari look aesthetically Malayalee, it was even shot in Munnar 😂😂

Its ironic how Americans ( Never have I ever series)get the south Indian reference somewhat correct, compared to our own country's " Bollywood" did.
  • @i.e.dharam
Really good editing, awesome portrayal of everyone's single point.

  • @primeshrimp6130
As a north east indian , I am glad bollywood never made any movie depicting this region, it would probably have been full of stereotypes
  • @jyotichandran
