An interview with Def Leppards Rick Allen about his recovery after losing his arm. This was a half hour programme called Fighting Back shown on BBC1 on the 19th of August 1992 in the UK. A program that each week Lynn Redgrave talked to a celebrity about a serious illness they have suffered.

    Man loses his arm and then apologizes for destroying the homeowner's stone wall in the incident. I don't think mankind comes any more humble than Rick Allen

    Rick Allen saved my life as a young man I lost a leg in a motorcycle accident I was so depressed thought my life was over tried to end it all then I saw this amazing drummer who lost an arm he inspired me to kick myself in the ass pick up and press on today I play bagpipes in a military honor guard unit thank you mr Allen I know I'm not the only one you have inspired over the years

    Basically, the guy gets his arm cut in a car accident, recovers and records his drums tracks on Hysteria, one of rock's biggest album. Respect.

    Can you imagine how he must've felt losing his arm? Nevermind that he played in one of the best bands of the 80's and was considered the God of drums. We're talking about losing a basic appendage. Seems like a genuinely great guy and am so glad that he worked it out with his drum kit (and plenty of blood, sweat, and tears!). You rock, sir!
