Welcome to my first-time watching as we react to Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2008). Even though this is not the last film in the Pirates saga it definitely felt conclusive to a lot of storylines that had been built throughout all 3 films.

In this third installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is trapped in Davy Jones' Locker, and it's up to Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), and Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) to rescue him and stop the East India Trading Company from conquering the seas.

The cinematography, score and mesmerizing visuals especially in the third act had us in absolute awe. This film effectively kept us immerse in this crazy world of pirates even at it's craziest moments.

We hope that you enjoy our reactions, commentary and review as we discuss the fantastic score, great action sequences, our amazement with the CGI and how the entire "Flying Dutchman" crew looked, how Calypso's wrath was depicted and why we believe Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is a worthy conclusion to a lot of the storylines we've been following and have enjoyed since the first film.

There's a nice deleted scene i wish they kept. When Jack and Beckett talk there's some extra dialogue where it's revealed that the reason Beckett hates him is because Jack stole one of his ships and the valuable cargo inside to which Jack replies "People aren't cargo, mate" meaning he freed a ship full of slaves. I wish they kept it because it says so much about Jack. He may be a pirate and may for the most part be out for himself but there are some things he will absolutely not allow on his watch
  • Elizabeth Swan, I dare to say, is one of the most badass, loved and remembered female characters in cinema... Her journey is amazing, from damsel in distress to king of the pirates, she's just that awesome!

Btw, take note of the fact that EVERY man Elizabeth has ever kissed has DIED. Jack died in the last film after their kiss, Sao Feng dies IMMEDIATELY after forcing a kiss on her, and James dies within a minute of kissing her. Will kissed her more often than anyone else, but before the movie was over... Pirates are sailors, and sailors are superstitious. In pirate circles, this is going to give Elizabeth a reputation, lol! 🤣 That should make it very easy for her to stay true to Will.

26:30 the number of times I've seen reactors say 'he's okay' only for him to immediately die is hilarious.
  • Captain Teague Sparrow, father of Jack, it´s played by Keith Richards, the legendary guitarist of Rolling Stones.

Hans Zimmer’s work on the scores is outstanding! His scores truly carry the entire franchise, especially the final battle music with the human voice for extra dramatics.
  • @johnsnow2199
The "Up is down" score is just a masterpiece Hand zimmer really went all in with the music in this movie

Chow Yun-fat, who played Sao Feng is one of the greatest asian actors of all time. He's legendary action star in Hong Kong and he has a very nice personality and did many good deeds to society. I recommend Hard Boiled (1992) and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (2000). He was amazing in these films.

Cinema peaked with this movie The Epicness,The score,The characters, The CGI This level of Epicness was never created in hollywood again, Endgame came close, but I think most will agree At worlds end tops it

These movies are a masterclass in character goals, motivations, and conflicts. Every single person has a reason for what they're doing and it make all the chaos make sense.

Will and Elizabeth have on of the best on-screen weddings ever!
  • That scene with the crabs and the boat is just my favorite part of this movie start to finish. It's just so strange and makes me feel like I'm in a dream.
  • The opening scene is probably the best opening scene ever except for maybe the dark knight
  • @dasjoe35
I also love the twist that the sword Davy Jones stabs Will with, is the sword Will made at the start of the first movie

My shoutout to screenwriters - Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott. They together know how to write a good story. They made: Aladdin (1992), The Mask of Zorro & The Legend of Zorro, Godzilla (1998), Small Soldiers, The Road to El Dorado, Shrek, Déjà Vu (2006), National Treasure film series, The Lone Ranger and of course Pirates of the Caribbean film series

Very few villains in cinema could ever capture the tragic journey similar to Darth Vader, but I always thought Davy Jones's journey in one and two came pretty close to it! It's such an understated performance in these films, but Bill Nighy absolutely kills it!

Can I just say, I think I’ve found my favorite movie/tv/game reactors in y’all, there’s just such a chill and relaxing vibe that y’all bring to the table, but you both get so invested into the story and design of everything you watch, which not many people can do naturally in the midst of the reaction. Hope y’all have been doing well, and thank you both for being awesome ❤️
