  • Honestly I think it’s better that it came out this year since superhero fatigue is finally sitting in and the way of water felt like original and fresh, it’s probably better that it didn’t have to compete against any of the avengers movies
  • I love absolutely what Cameron did for this film, this man is a perfectionist but man you can't argue the results.
  • @after-hours
This movie was really good I wasn't prepared for the strong message that family is everything and a father would do anything to protect he's children

11:52 slight correction, Jamiane IS Māori. He's spoken about this before and also does the Māori dub for Moana. He's also spoken about how sad he is about how his Nan on his mums side (Māori) was treated in schools are you were beaten for speaking Te Reo.

Speaking of Maori, I believe a Maori actor (Shane Rangi) also played the co-pilot of Mick Scoresby's hunting speedboat.
  • My husband somehow got sea sick when we watched this movie at a 4D theater. I guess that's how real it looked lmao

‘Do you remember what your life was like 13 years ago.’ I was dead...
  • @after-hours
I love the dynamic between the teenage avatars I felt a lot like an alien version of The Goonies

I didnt realise how involved my country was in this movie, although New Zealand is getting more and more recognition in the film industry for its beauty.
  • Simple story is good thing because tropes are meant as tools, not cliches. Is better to make room for effects, sound, costumes and acting. Movies are meant as experience art, not collage art lectures.
  • I hope Cameron does give the grounds for all the writing and each scene, cause I‘m scared that we wont get the best movies if the other writers are completly free in what they write. I guess and hope Disney isnt allowed to cut in Camerons work, cause knowing how they fail with binding social political problems with actualy depth characters and an evolving story.
  • It’s kind of weird Of how this channel disappeared off the face of the Earth for two years only to return
  • morbidly disapointed they made Jemaine Clement shed his New Zealand accent while playing Dr. Garvin
  • I have not found info on this yet , but why did the staff not use rebreather equipment? This leaves no bubbles as its a closed circuit. For the actors it may possibly not be used because its a bulk that slows their movements and can get into the way, but for all the other staff members it should have been an option. I suspect Cameron deliberately wanted everyone to freedive in order to get some team and group dynamics and for all the team to actually feel what the characters in the movie experience.
  • It was better the sequels being released now, instead of back in 2014, they now had more time to write, film and edit, and if they were released back then, they would be competing against the MCU and the Avengers movies…
