Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to go travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling, and we didn’t want to stop after just one year! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries and then all 7 continents (check out our documentary here:    • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY  , we had no plans to slow down, until 2020 decided to force us to ;) which is when we bought a converted Sprinter van to start exploring our own country for the first time. #Vanlife was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every

  • It used to be a population of 2, but her husband died. It was a sad day for us Nebraskan’s.
  • @ayham_97
I don't know if I am the only one that sees it this way, but that lady is still sharp for 87 years old.
  • Imagine a town with a population of one and yet, she's too busy serving diners like working in a busy city restaurant to realize the time. Thanks to her regular customers who drive all the way down to support her and keeping this tiny town alive even with a population of just one. Sad to see abandoned church and houses😪
  • She's extremely Sharp - it just goes to show how being busy and keeping active keeps the Mind fresh.
  • "If you want to move here and be called mayor, I don't care" this lady is at maximum chill
  • I love this episode. It seems so sad. Elsie seems like a sweet lady. She grew up in this town and now everyone she's known is gone and the buildings are all dilapidated. Must be difficult to see every day.
  • Rudy’s library is a treasure. How wonderful and lovely to honour his memory that way. So sweet.
  • She works harder than me and she’s 30 years older at 87. Amazing strength and fortitude.
  • @swiss4121
When covid started, we braced ourselves She laughed
  • Pandemic: makes everyone quarantine Elsie: “Pathetic.”
  • This was just beautiful and sad. Thank you Kara and Nate for taking your time and sharing with us part of history. The smallest town in America. Elsie is sweet.
  • For the smallest town, the food looks better than most big cities I’ve been to
  • “I panicked and ordered water” I felt that😂😂😂
  • This video was wholesome. We need to protect this woman. She is down to earth. Very sharp and healthy for 87. Loves people, loves her town, and loves her late husband. I wish you many more healthy years Ma’am Elsie. And maybe with this video we can bring positive energy and tourism to her.
  • It makes you realize the importance of the little and simplest things in life living in places that arent the City or a really busy area. I love this. Shes beautiful inside and out and I wish her the best of luck. Shes doing great!
  • My grandparents, Guy and Irene Keller, were married on October 17,1922 in the abandoned Methodist Church in Monowi. (The church you visited.) Guy Keller drove the fuel truck out of Mulhairs Mobil Station in Lynch, Nebraska, until his death in 1966.On vacations, I rode with him, and we often stopped at the Monowi Tavern on his trips to fill farmers tanks on outlying farms. My father left Lynch on June 6, 1941 to join the United States Coast Guard and made that his career., never returning to live in the area. That is the story for years of dwindling populations for Boyd County and towns like Lynch and Monowi. I thank both of you for this video.
  • For an 87 year old, she looks incredible!!! Props to her for all her hard work, what a cool story!
  • @KB-eu5xi
I’d love to move here and spend all my energy restoring this town to its former glory.
  • @xRestart
I love the attitude of Elsie. People that learn the story of Monowi find it interesting but she literally doesnt care and she just minds her business like any other resident of any other town.
