Bait Stocking & Feeding at the Backyard Pond

I've been training the minnows to eat fish food in order to bulk them up with protein which will help grow the bass as they eat the minnows. The pond bass have been eating quite a few minnows this summer, but thankfully the baitfish have been reproducing very well on their own to become self-sufficient. We also do some minnow trapping and hit a bait shop to purchase a large bag of hundreds of minnows to be released into the pond. This pond is now full of bait and ready from some big bass to be released into it later this season.

Our water quality has been getting much better. The water column clarifier and blue pond dye has been really helping, along with the always running Solar Pond Aerator. The Pond Aerator has really cleaned up our water taking from gross green, to nice clear healthy water. By the end of the season we can see very deep into the pond. We also check out last years Pond Beach Build and it looks like it has finally firmed up enough that we can walk on.We now have a beach!

    Very nice water clarity now it looks amazing. Don't joke about the foot thing - I've had people on my other channel Powermodz ask me for foot pics, in retrospect I might have been able to make some money but I kinda think my feet are disgusting. Cant wait to see your bass vids.

    We had a nice pond stocked with large mouth. We used to catch frogs and toss them in and it was like a piranha feeding frenzy right on the surface. So cool.

    I used Pea gravel for my beach.I originally used sand and it washed into my pond and Pea gravel let's water drain into the pond without eroding the gravel

    Good to hear the sand worked out. I have a few inches on my pond and have yet to have a bite ice fishing. It’s been awhile since they’ve been fed. Don’t know how they’re not hungry. I’ll try again in a couple days. How are your gills doing?
