Its not a hack. Its biology. Saying grounding is a hack is like saying eating and breathing is a hack

I’m off my blood pressure meds …… and my back pain and the pain from a 25 broken foot has greatly improved. I’ve been grounding for a year. I’m a firm believer…but then again, I’m in my 70’s….and you’re a young man. Big difference.

I've been into grounding for several years now, and what many of the long-time proponents of grounding say is that grounding into a wall socket gives you "dirty" electricity, as opposed to grounding into the Earth. So instead of plugging into the wall, I run an extra long cord through a window or door and plug directly into the Earth. Oddly enough, it actually makes me feel like I'm outside on the ground and not in my house on a grounding mat...with the accompanying health benefits and good feelings. Try it.

I'm a guy of science and I thought this was just mumbojumbo until I tested it for myself. I just tried it to disprove grounding, so the effects was not placebo, since I wasn't expecting any effects. I have been listening to my body the last 15 years with meditation and I would like to believe Im pretty in tune with my body. The effect the first time was astounding. Feeling happy and calm, sleep was much better and also meditation got much deeper and enjoyable. I think this might be because since childhood I have very seldom been in contact with the ground and it was really needed. Since then I have discovered some things. Grounding is much more effective when it's wet outside, or in a lake or even better: in the ocean where it is very strong. I often take my multimeter with me to check the resistance of different conditions in the soil. Its fun!

Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I enjoyed it, and want to take you up on your invitation to tell my Earthing story in brief here. Earthing does two things (that we know of): 1. It enables the body to refill its stores of electrons; 2. It connects our biological rhythms to the earth's rhythms. These two things can have profound effects IF your electron stores are depleted and IF your biological rhythms are off; Otherwise, there just won't be anything to notice. These two things flow into a cascade of benefits, from better sleep to better blood flow, better energy, better immune function... but only if you were deficient to begin with. I am so glad I started Earthing about 3 years ago: I started because I was needing about 2 days to recover from 3 hours of yard work (energy, pain, weakness) - even after two months of yardwork, I wasn't doing any better, so I cast about for solutions. After my first night grounded, I woke feeling 'pretty darn good' (according to my journal). A couple weeks into Earthing, I noticed my toes were pink again - a fresh, healthy pink as opposed to the dull gray/yellow cast that folks told me was due to 'age'. That tells me that my blood is circulating better. I stopped feeling 'creaky' and could move more easily. When I get hurt, I recover without any excessive swelling. I now recover from yardwork within hours - not days. I stopped needing pain meds. I sleep well and my blood pressure is always normal. After about 3 weeks, people started commenting that I was looking better ("Wow, you look great! What are you doing?" was said a lot in the first months). I lost some weight - but that's because I was able to physically be more active. When I feel as if I have a cold coming on, it never develops into a full-blown illness (so I think my immune system is doing a better job). Nearly all my grounding happens indoors on pads that are plugged into the ground port of a nearby electrical socket. My 65+ body is just more comfy with this.
  • I’ve personally found benefits in grounding. I also find that the healthier you are/the more healing modalities you implement, the harder it can be to notice big differences in adding in new things.

As someone who has been earthing for only about a month, I have a different experience. First of all, I'm 60 and my body has been through a LOT. I had a kidney, my spleen and 1 adrenal removed due to septic kidney failure in late 2016. Prior to that, as a younger woman, I was in excellent shape and had a 6-pack. I looked great, but was apparently very unhealthy inside my body. After this surgery, my body changed drastically and I kept gaining and gaining and gaining. Sure, I went through menopause and that was part of it, but that didn't explain the drastic gain I experienced. No amount of exercise helped, no diet made a dent. I also saw the Earthing Movie and decided it was worth a try. As a note, the weight gain escalated as soon as it got too cold for me to walk barefoot outside, something I do anytime I can, not because of this but because I love it and it reminds me of being a kid. So I thought "hmmm, seems that the escalation correlated with the cold weather". I have a mat under my desk and I sleep on one on my bed. I used to sleep maybe 4-5 hours a night and now I'm sleeping 7-8. AND I've lost almost 15 lbs in just under a month. I used to only feel energy from my neck to just about my bra line, now I feel the warmth from moving energy all the way down my spine. My back pain is greatly reduced and I'm not waking up with anxiety. This is literally the only thing I changed. I didn't change my diet but after using the mats, I don't have the same cravings anymore. I think that's because I'm not feeling as anxious or stressed as I was. I used to wake up and, as soon as I was awake in bed, my mind started racing and the anxiety took over. That is gone. What effect do the mats make? I don't have scientific proof, but given this is the only thing I changed, I have to believe it's making a huge difference. The author of this video is much younger than I am and looks to be in excellent shape. Perhaps it's harder to notice the difference if you're not weighed down with a ton of inflammation? Don't know....just know my own experience.
  • I love how you just have an idea for an experiment and completely commit to it no matter how ridiculous it feels and genuinely give it a chance to see if there's any benefit.

Leather soled footwear can keep you grounded while offering protection against the adverse conditions. The indians knew.

I've only been grounding for a week now. I bought pads for inside the house when I'm on the computer, watching TV, and sleeping. I've also been going outside barefoot in the yard, or even if I stop somewhere when I'm out and about in town. I feel much more relaxed and clear headed. I don't feel stressed and have deeper feelings of connection with life around me. I've also noticed the circulation in my feet have improved. They have been constantly cold for the longest time and getting worse of the years, but my feet feel tingly and warm and it's so nice. So far so good.

I’m 55, grew up going barefoot in the 70’s/80’s playing outside .. we were always so healthy for kids in germs and earth and never had allergies… now just the opposite is the case with all kids and adults. This is definitely something to think about. Makes total sense !!
  • @Bangabonger
Personally i think going barefoot outdoors has a positive health effect for another reason which is that you feel the texture of the ground and that is a great source of information and geting information thru or senses is somthing that is good for us, like imagine wearing gloves for a whole day for no reason, or earplugs or sunglasses or a mask any of those if worn constantly would feel pretty good to take off when the day is done, heck Even something we do wear every day all day like underwear feels pretty good to take off when the day is done and you go to sleep you can finaly feel the light breeze on your balls you know? Your feet is the greatest source of information from the ground and you are completly cut off from that while wearing shoes unless you reach down and touch it.. i also think we pick up on a lot more than just hot cold dry and wet when being in direct contact whit the ground Even if we can’t pinpoint what that information mean.
  • Just being in nature has proven stress-relieving effects so I think that could explain your observation. They even did experiments where they wheeled subjects around to control for exercise etc.
  • @my2cworth4U
I did this outside when I was pregnant, every night, or else I could not sleep. I believed then that it drew all the static electricity out of my body, into the earth, so I could relax. I'm 77 now and just rediscovered this, tried it this morning for back pain which was eased within minutes. Nothing has helped to ease this pain until i did this today. So I'm sold on the idea. I intend to do this rain or shine, for the rest of my life. Thank you for this video. ❤

I like these experiments on the more "kooky" ideas. I tried grounding, just laying outside in the sun and felt much better, though whether it's the grounding or being outside it's hard to say. Can you try a no blue light experiment? Change all the bulbs in your house, wear blue light blocking glasses etc lol
  • @creylacoste4981
You should lay outside on a insulating pad so you can differentiate between the grounding and fresh air.
  • @NolanAusdenmoore
My family has been grounding for a while now, especially at night with the mats. It has helped a lot.
  • @jonlarsen002
I got into grounding a couple of years ago. I think there might be evidence that in the long run you will have fewer inflammation-related health issues if you practice regular grounding. However, in the short run, it doesn't change the way I feel significantly enough to make sure I'm always on a grounded mat. I put more of my effort toward ice-bathing, for example, since this gives me noticeable benefits every single time. As far as walking barefoot outside, I wouldn't be surprised if this is actually improving your state of being simply because you have more physical sensations in nature which make it easier to stay present and mindful and less in your head.

Thanks for your video and your honest review. I am in my mid seventies and I have been using the grounding pad for more than 20 years. It's in my bed. When I put the soles of my feet on it, I feel good, if it touches other body parts, I don't feel any difference. Now I have a pad also on the floor in front of my desk. I just sat down for 2 or more hours with my bare feet on the mat and I do feel a difference. I have Hashimoto's and RA. My throat often hurts and is sore from the thyroid problem, but after having had the soles of my feet grounded for a few hours, I feel no pain in my throat when I swallow, nor pain from my RA (rheumatoid arthritis). This is the first time I have been grounding for such a long period of time, and it works for me. I will continue doing this and see if the results last.

We live up in the mountains so I try to ground naked laying in the sun. Gets me my vitamin D and ground done at the same time. I also really enjoy playing some sports barefoot. Volleyball, soccer, etc… walking around barefoot is so wonderful.
