Wish I had come across this video years ago! I have progressive lipedema, an incurable disorder, which started at puberty and this woman's wisdom would have saved me decades of self-loathing and depression. I still struggle to accept this disorder which causes such deformities of my limbs, mostly because people are ignorant of lipedema and generally believe I simply need to "lose weight". Although I agree with what this woman is saying, and can see the wisdom and beauty in it - I struggle to let it sink into my heart. Will need to hear it on a daily basis.
  • An unexpected chain of events has led me to this video today. For months now, the word "joy" has been prominent in my mind. I bought a t-shirt with "I've got the joy joy joy joy down in my heart", I put up a Christmas bulletin board at work that featured the word "joy", today in church, we were taught from Philippians to "rejoice always", "Joy in the House of the Lord" by Phil Wickham is one of my favorite songs, and now this lesson of suffering well and finding "joy". I know there is something for me to glean here. Thank you for sharing.
