I honestly wish Capcom could've gotten a hold of the rights for Alone in the Dark. Using the RE engine to remake this series would've been amazing. That, and during the height of Resident Evil mania in the 90s/2000, there was already an RE-style reboot of the series, Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare. You might recognize it for being the primary visual inspiration for Uwe Boll's rotten dumpster fire of a movie adaptation, but it was way better than that.

Im looking forward to this, i just cant justify buying a game on release these days when they come down in price so quickly. Will definitely get silent hill 2 on release tho!

Very nice review. The game is awesome if you can look past and tolerate it's rough edges. The 2 delays kind of drained any hype and anticipation along with horrible marketing strategy for the game by the time it finally debuted. Though I'm still hopeful the game will be successful thanks to word of mouth for it mostly positive and steadily spreading. I also think the sales target for this game isn't that big. So it's still got a good chance of getting a sequel despite the mixed reception and staff lay offs.

Glad we got this remake, been waiting a long time for it. Unfortunately, Alone In The Dark 2024 hasn't sold RE numbers and likely won't continue. Was hoping for more Alone In The Dark as I think RE has been milked bone dry, fossilized dry. Capcom literally remaking games that don't need remakes over ones that could benefit from such treatments. And I really didn't care for RE Village and all the Winters characters. At least they also ported Alone In The Dark The New Nightmare to PS4/PS5 too. I don't think it has trophies, but I'll still pick it up as I never owned an actual physical copy of the PS1 release. Retro game prices in the US are often ludicrous now. Seems both Dead Space and Alone In The Dark will be shelved, again. Dang shame, guess that Silent Hill 2 Remake is the last real competition for RE.
