Dear editors: blink twice if MatPat has captured you and forced you to accept ancient builder lore
  • @Crutch_Media
Minecraft lore is something I’ve never really thought of until game theory made their first video on it
  • @PrisonerFlake
I really like this theory but I think its more realistic if it wasn't the warden itself that emerged from the portal, but something that started the skulk infection on a smaller scale. in my mind the warden was created by the skulk after it had grown for a long while and became more powerful
  • @No_direction-99
I love how Minecraft can be both relaxing and somewhat intense depending on play style and difficulty settings (including survival vs creative modes)
  • @Xtromations15
It’s amazing how MatPat can make a theory out of pottery sherds and armor trims
  • @skittle3570
I am also convinced Mojang adds new, random things and then just watch Matpat's videos and say: "Mhm, that's what we were planning all along"
  • @Holsp
10:30 The "potion" could easily be a water bottle for carrying water out of the well. Using this for transport would be a big thing for a desert nation development and would make sense to be put up on a pottery vase.

These theories are never gonna be the same without pat. I feel like his voice Carrie’s this channel lol.
  • @SweetVictory270
I like to think that the different types of villagers you can find in different biomes foreshadow the idea of different ancient civilizations and their culture.
  • I like the possibilities that the storytelling approach of Minecraft can lead to: Imagine a scenario where a new player or old player that hasn’t played Minecraft in a while learned about how to get pottery sherds, then finds Mourner and wonders what its even depicting then stumbles upon the deep dark and learns the hard way.

3:23 Flashbacks to my first semesters in archaeology. This one is the ceramic, which showed my Professor the most. This year i was in Athens, i saw it in the Museum and was so extremly exited to see it in reallife.❤

Matt Pat should read the Minecraft books, since it reveals certain lore pieces, such as the nature of the heart of ender, and “the nameless kingdom”. Hopefully he’ll also watch xatrix’s Minecraft theories, too!
  • @toben6517
One small but interesting thing I’ve noticed is that Wither skeletons and Endermen are both taller than the player, suggesting they may have been related.
  • Is it possible that the sand peiple (the ones who went to the nether for potions) went to the end also since in The End City you see a boat that's literally floating and inside it, what do you have? A brewing stand with potions!
  • That’s interesting… An ancient pottery shard is literally called a sherd… Such an interesting word, though my phone recognizes it, it wants to correct me. I’m kinda curious where some things get their names… Some things have basic names, some strange, some interesting, some possibly not fitting… This is definitely one of the interesting ones.
  • Not sure why, but this theory especially near the end of the video sent a shiver down my spine. Love the lore that Mat is building for Minecraft.
  • @lade_pardee
EDIT: I am obviously aware that the snapshots with storage came out the week after I made this comment. @2:12 -imagine if the pots actually did hold things- .... making me relive my second biggest disappointment about the pots, the first being they aren't dyeable
  • @user-ne5xx3ie7e
We will miss you matpat thank you for making my childhood better😊
  • @audrei679
i have always believed that the shattered terrain is from the wither. with the savannah being one of the first shattered biomes, i think it ties in realll nice
  • One of my theories of Minecraft is that there was not just a broad, secretive storyline we have to discover, there is a more linear path. Looking into the disc 11, it themes a singular man mining and running from a creeper. Again in disc 5, we see a single man being followed up by an army, and since we already know 5 is a conglomerate of other discs, then we know that one of the shards of the disc making it were recorded by a single person. There is a specific ancient builder that the Minecraft world is following, a certain someone I theorize to be the man who destroyed the entirety of civilization, I wonder who, perhaps the solo player we see fighting off the piglins in Legends, or the man who many believe to have led a civ to creating the wither, or perhaps the one who lights the portal in disc 5. There is something deeper going on than just the story of the old world, this is the story of the end of it, and who caused it. find my other comments
