Fun fact! "Sazae-san" is STILL running! It holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-running animated television series, at nearly 3000 episodes!
  • @Mewzard
Yeah, Saint Seiya was a gem of a series, ran alongside Kinnikuman (which is getting a new anime in 2024), Fist of the North Star, Dragon Ball, and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure back in the day. All five are gems of a series. Shame I didn't see Getter Robo in the 70s section, it's also a gem.

Did you know that Dr Slump was written by Akira Toriyama? Some of my favorite anime openings were included. Slayers, Saint Seiya, Macross, Urusei Yatsura, Ranma 1/2, Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Space Battleship Yamato, Touch, Dr Slump: Arale-chan, Dragon Ball. I would have added Fushigi Yuugi, Kimagure Orange Road, Marmalade Boy, Zeta Gundam, Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, and Gundam Double Zeta to the list.

For around 07:55: this was the opening of "Brave Hero Exkaiser", the first series of Transformers sister franchise, the "Brave series". To make a long story short: after Transformers got discontinued in the late 80ies toy manufacturer Takara decided to use not yet used designs and concepts of TF for their own TV show without Hasbro, which resulted in "Brave Hero Exkaiser", the first of 7 series. Exkaiser himself for example began his life originally as a new design/take of Optimus Prime, and the Brave series over all re-used a lot of character designs from transformers overall. They might make for a good reaction considering how incredibly energetic they all are, and how influencial they are to this day. GaogaiGar, the final season of the Brave Series, is regarded as one fo the best Super robot shows ever made in its genre.

A few months ago, you reacted to the trailer for the movie Knights Of The Zodiac, this movie is an adaptation of the anime Saint Seiya (Knights Of The Zodiac is the western name of the anime). In some countries this anime was as popular as Dragon Ball, it was part of my childhood. I liked the live action too (although many people in the fandom didn't like it), but I had fun watching it and it made me nostalgic.

Man u ain't lying about having access to anime as a kid in the 80s like we have it now. I know I would have got in trouble. I choose anime over American cartoons bcuz of the art work AND the coloring, then the motion and camera angles. ....... Top, notch. Gotcha Man use to come on right when it was time to go to school and I stalled like a mofo just to watch bits and pieces of it. Then Capt Harlock came in, then Macross- I got turned out on Macross, dang near got azz whippen from Mom's bcuz she was trippin. She Knew good well I watched robotech at 3:00 pm Mon -fri. And she made me miss an episode. I was ready for a beat down. 😂

8:34 Toei did make a live action series back in the early 2000’s. The effects aren’t the best but it’s the vibes that carry it

    ありがとう 私の生きて来た時代そのものですありがとう😋👍🇯🇵
  • I wish astro boy was more popular in the anime fandom since being the first anime to air on tv in the 1960s
  • @RudiTheMan
It's wild that I watched almost all of them on tv during my childhood,
  • Huh, well, this was very interesting, it’s fascinating how things has changed. Say, how about doing Mario & Sonic: all Anime Intros by LordTRex next at some point?
  • @Austinalien
Great reaction! Have you guys considered watching a compilation of the world of Warcraft cinematic trailers? They are top tier and worth watching.
  • @sgsairl1706
Surprised to see Love Hina, one of my first favorite anime back then and so popular. Nowadays people doesn't know it 😢
  • @gryphman
Uh oh! They've seen Brave ExKaiser. Time for the rest of the Brave Series.
  • @chaospudding
So sad that Gurren Lagann was one of the openings that needed to be silenced. It's my all time favorite anime and a formative piece of media for me.
  • @TKDragon75
Something else to note that if you want to watch Full Metal Alchemist. Is that the original follows the manga only like 30% of the way through before diverting into it's own entire storyline. While brotherhood is a remake that follows the manga almost beat for beat.
