I purchased Starfield and a couple cans of RAID before I fired up the game...just in case. Only gotten bit a few times so far.

you said what ive been telling people for ages. he isnt a blatant liar he is just a truth stretcher. interpret what he says in the worst way possible. if todd says he is bringing a pie to thanksgiving dessert assume its shepherd's pie and not apple pie.

Stretching a half truth and making it appear something is not IS lying. Its what used car salesman do all the time and we shouldn't defend that behavior

People will keep lying and cheating till caught and stopped. Same needs to happen with Todd.

The part about Radiant AI is not correct. It was 100% a complete lie. Every part of an NPCs day is 100% scripted in Bethesda's Gamebryo engine.

I never quite understood the mountain one. When I played the game I would walk in a straight line regardless and often would spend a good chunk of timing going over a mountain I could've gone around. The Fallout 3 ending, I can lean on an accidental embellishment of the truth if I'm nice. You have two major endings, and some scenes about your journey to that ending. I do not consider them endings themselves just conclusions to certain choices you made on your way to one of the two endings and I suspect Todd knew this would be an easy to dodge embellishment so stuck with it. Radiant AI is just AI scripting with more steps and variables. Regardless, it's still scripting and as an aspiring game developer at the time when he said this it made me raise an eyebrow. Other issues like "infinite quests" or radiant quests probably isn't a lie. But the meme leans on how useless and empty those quests are, just because they have the potential to have you do something until you stop playing the game, doesn't make it worthwhile or valuable and was a direct look into some concerns of quantity vs quality quests. Same can be said for the trainwreak that is Fallout 76 and the 16x the detail claim. That is a straight up lie, quoting an arbitrary multiplication number to promote the game. I'm not saying the game doesn't look better, ignoring launch day woes and texture load in issues but the claim itself is arbitrary with no factual data to back it up and just said hype things up.

Like he did with Fallout 76? Yes? When Todd walks on stage to promote a new title, I know I will not be pre-ordering. I fear for ES6 and the New Fallout

What's obvious for the most part is how Todd Howard and the various team members through showcases navigated between not admitting what people were excited about being in the game that wasn't in the game over what the game actually was, basically Fallout/Elder Scrolls in a sci-fi setting. I'm enjoying the game for what it is, the tighter gun play is very welcome though still a bit shit and the side quests are so much better than the main story by a country mile but it is essentially a 10 year old game with the gfx settings ramped up to give the appearance of better fidelity, the lack of graphics options proves this, but it's still a fun game, the absolute worst thing is the loading screens and transitions, they pissed me off after an hour and now hitting close to 80 hours they annoy the fuck out of me. Enjoy it for what it is and you wont be disappointed but it is not nor will it ever be seen to be ground breaking or revolutionary. I would like to see Microsoft give them the option to create a new engine or license one, the Frankenstein's monster that is the Creation engine is way past its sell by date and Bethesda need to move on, it's holding them back now and the news that ES6 is going to be on Creation engine doesn't fill me with hope, the Bethesda formula works for the most part and mods help paper over the cracks but it's getting old now and even at the risk of alienating some long time fans they desperately need to move on from Creation engine.

2:50 being generous counting every possible order of slides you can get, there is only 61 endings. But agreed there is only 1 ending. The one tod gave us but painted to look like multiple endings
  • @kuromatsu1539
He's a Hypeman basically. So he does hype stuff up. And he just overhypes I guess.
  • Yeah you see not mentioning loading screen after loading screen after loading screen in starfield....isn't a lie. He just forgot to mention it.
  • @cesaru3619
Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies Tell me lies Tell me, tell me lies Oh no-no, you can't disguise You can't disguise No, you can't disguise Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies
  • I do believe Todd is more than just a hype guy, but the true nature of his mind and actions eludes me.
